C7 Now Seems to Be Available?

Except you will lose it on the resale value of the C6 because when they start discounting the C7, the C6 will fall in value even further.

True and the wholesale values of used C6's are way down now because of the large discounts rebates etc. on new C6's. Drive off the lot with your 15 grand discount and try to trade it 3 months later and subtract another 7 or 8 grand.

Do you really think a company is going to manufacture and produce the best-performing base Corvette to date without providing a road test?
Would GM just throw out these numbers....60 mph in 3.8 seconds, brake from 60-0 mph in 107 feet, and 1.03 g in cornering? "The Corvette with the performance and magnetic ride control package lapped the 4.2-mile Virginia International Raceway Grand Concourse in 2 minutes, 51.78 seconds; that car was modified only with a racing seat and harness, and a fire extinguisher system".
Here's some light reading.....

Anyone know who to talk to at Boardwalk Chevrolet?

You are going to lose alot more if you pay full sticker. Paying full sticker is losing 9 grand the day you drive it off the lot not including normal depreciation.

So I think he gets more value by owning the C6 first.

The normal run of 5 years rarely sees the kind of discounts you received. I'm assuming about 25 % off in your case?
Heavily loaded or higher performance model?
It's a great deal for sure...but many times there are more important things to buyers then the best price...
For those who buy the new C7 first year....they will be having a permanent smile for many years to come that makes the few extra dollars spent....money well invested...

Ive talked to Dealers all over the country and many of them have sold their complete year's allocation of C7's already. This car is HOT.
One is a Forum Dealer.
Also, take a look at 2004 sales when the C6 came out.....lousy of course.
A 2013 Vette looks just like my 2005. Why would I want to buy a new car that looks just like my nine year old C6 only a different color. Takes a certain kind of person to buy that 'last year in the model'. No surprise to me or Chevy that '04 and '13 sales are slow.

Sales in the 2004 model year were not slow they sold 34,064 2004's and 37,372 2005's which today GM would be ecstatic with either one of those totals for the 2014's. I think they will be doing well if they hit 25k units for 2014 with the delayed release of the convert model.
I can say for certain that in many markets (mine as an example), they could sell more cars than there are available allocations to dealers. The constraint on sales in those markets will not be demand but rather supply. The only way they will sell 25,000+ 2014 model year cars is if there is no restriction on supply but that doesn't seem to be true in many place?

I think 1997 was a low production run as well. Supply was tight as well that year.
I could be remembering wrong but 10000 units is ringing a bell...
About the same for the slow release of the c7....2014 model year....
I think they hold it down to assure quality control of all the new processes etc from suppliers too...
The adventure into carbon fiber production and usage is pretty cutting edge in a relatively mass produced vehicle.

The Corvette is a mass produced car. It should be available to people that want to buy it. GM is a public company that wants to make $$$. They're going pump these things out and try to sell as many as they can. It's a car, a toy, not a collectible. The car is not meant to be rare. It's meant to make $$$.

Correct. And the best way to make money is to create demand by making the best vehicle possible at the most competitive price. So far GM is on course for a winner. Hopefully we are all saying that in 6 months from now. Confidence is high.
