Base Coupe Curb Weight 3298
I just noticed in this weeks Distribution Updates of the Online Order Guide that the curb weight is now listed as well as 15 ft of cargo space.

Yep, the C6's weight was 3,208.

Well, not quite over 3,000,000 lbs.
Also, that weight was released at the Bash event some time ago, with some interesting slides showing where the weight reductions and weight gains came from. The new seats and electronics contributed almost 100 additional lbs between the two (mid 40's each if I recall).
Based on those slides it does seem as though there is room for quite a bit of reduction on the hipo versions.

Given everything....
I think 3300 pounds for an amazing all around sports car like the corvette is great. With the ever increasing governmental regulations and state of the art upgrades to the interior and infotainment, as well as improving sound deadening so you can truly appreciate the sweet sound coming from your NPP exhaust, to get all of this in a balanced package is truly amazing, great job team corvette, you deserve a

What was the dry weight GM listed for the c6 ? Was it less than 3100 lbs?
Isn't the gas tank larger in the c7? more oil capacity too?
Not that the extra 90 lbs matters...that's nothing considering what the vehicle is capable of...and what it costs...
for under 60 grand it crushes all competitors at the track and on the road...with comfort to boot
Just the fact we don't have to read that the corvette interior is sub par blah...blah..blah...
My butt never cared how soft the leather in the seats were and I not once felt up the dash board to say...it wasn't the feel I wanted..
but just the fact the magazine editors can no longer propagate this long lost story is worth the extra 90 lbs...
IMO

Weight is not that bad, my 09 Z51 coupe 1LT weights 3312 on the street. This is a real weight from a drive on scale, they said it is within 2% + or -. So the C7 isn't all that different for weight.

Not sure why the denial, anyone who can't admit disappointment that the car is heavier is only fooling themselves. Keep in mind the C6 was developed in the late 90's/early 2000's, ten years later with all of the available enhancements in materials the car should have easily been able to cut weight.
