Default Anyone else notice a huge change from hating this design to loving it?

So I feel the "emotion" of he design of c7 has drastically changed as we approach reveal. It seems inititially every post on here was negative about the new design! Now most of what I hear is positive! It seems jalopnik's origin early rendering was extremely close and people hated it then! What's changed??

That front end is killer. It looks like GM has really looked at all the mods people have done to the C5s and C6 on this forum and incorporated it nicely into an original design.

Nothing has changed. I guess people are just waiting for the real car to be introduced instead of just drawings.

As they say - the devil's in the details. As we get closer to the reveal we are finding out just how much of a difference the details can really make.

Well, I think the Automobile cover gave the best actual perspective we've seen thus far. It showed a lower, wider version from what we've seen with excellent proportioning. It made it look real, and that softened quite a few that were upset with the tail light configuration, including me. It's not as bad as I had feared, and think in the flesh I might even like it.

Then the R&T cover showed a front end that we hadn't really seen before. Similar, but not quite the same. It looks good, aggressive, yet sleek.

So, a little 'shock and awe' has won some hearts and minds, perhaps.

...and there was this guy wearing a black suit and dark glasses that knocked on my door. He said he was from GM, handed me a glass of Cool-Aid and said "drink this, you'll feel better". It was yummy!

Speaking for myself because it sounds a little corny - I am really feeling this Stingray stuff.

This car may better represent an actual Stingray than the C2 !!!!!

Arguing over the details gave us something to do until 1-13-13. After 1/13, we will debate what we think we saw in photos & if it will look better or worse in person. After that occurs, we move next to driving impressions vs those that have not driven it yet etc.

If this is all too much stress, you can always buy a Corolla. I doubt those type of details are debated as passonately for the that car as a Corvette.

IMO its that they are drawings/renders and the proportions are allways just that slight bit off. Its like the rear end, they are essentially the same as the ones revealed a long time ago but undoubtably the real one is much much better. It is the little details that complete it.

I still don't like it! Not enough Corvette heratage in the styling.

Heritage of the corvette is in the ownership and dedication of those who own them...this is why you feel like you dont fit...your the one with no heritage..

Ah, but rebellion is indeed Corvette heritage. But it is impossible to please everyone, and one is miserable if they try.

When you're not looking at the real thing, or the whole thing, it's not easy to fall in love with the car.

But once you see some detail you dislike it's hard to let go of it.

Essentially, dislike gets a head start.

I've been wondering the same thing

Sure, I think the front looks pretty good, but I haven't seen the "real" side yet, and I'm still not sure about the rear. I think I'll "know" when I can finally see the the entire car, not just a couple of somewhat grainy magazine covers which may or may not be renderings or extensively touched up photos.

Can't wait!!

Every hour that passes.. more haters are changing to lovers. Mainly because they put too much emotion & faith into 2D black & white renders. Wait till you see how many lovers pop up in the section talking about how amazing the car is after the reveal has finished later today.

While actual pictures of the car will get most to change their opinion.. video of the car, interior, features, technology, HP and performance will get the rest to pay attention. I've never doubted this car and really believe this will be the best Corvette yet.

For the record, I personally had NEVER posted that I hated the original Jalopnik rendering (or most of it's derivatives).
I never said I loved it either of course but I always liked the front and profile of what had been speculated all along.

i still am waiting and unsure of much other than probably the front end. i do know that GM has said they want to change the image away from the geriatric old man mobile that many 20s and 30 something see it as and try to lure in more buyers.

i personally have never understood why the corvette attracts old men. they don't go buy sti's or evo's or 370z's in anywhere near the same %

My opinion has gone from the front looks cool, the back looks terrible to the front is mean and amazing and the back is still kind of iffy. I guess I'll let you know better tomorrow though.
