Is Talon90 around?
What gas was used? Was it done with the new 7 spd manual? Why didn't they utilize the 'active exhaust system'?

Who really cares. No two cars will perform exactly alike. A car will not perform exactly the same under different weather conditions. So why be a nit picker. The figures they gave us are for one car on one day. The answers to your questions will not change a single persons decision to buy or not buy a new C7.

Well your guess is as good as mine, however, I would assume to make it a valid test they used the recommended top octane for the elevation where the testing is being run. Here in Texas we have no problems getting 93, now if you get to higher altitudes the top octain could be as low as 91 to 89. No matter what they were using their proclaimed results should be obtained by most. I mean most as far as 0-60 and 1/4, as far as VIR track times it takes a driver with some skills such as the one they employed.

Given your reasoning, why ever post any numbers at all since no two cars will perform exactly alike?

I'm sure they ran premium although regular grade gasoline could have been used.
There is a earlier combustion process with 87 octane that would theoretically offer lower carbon buildup so there is a slight chance regular could be specified..
I believe without forced induction regular can be used in the new LT1..
Personally if I could get the hp and tq benefit of premium fuel...I'd easily see the logic in splurging the extra 20 cents a gallon...

Does anyone know the weight of any wax that was on the car?

Some say he looks good in heels, and that he once wrote ad copy for Frigidaire's Alaska division.
All we know is he's called BlueOx.
But seriously, it's interesting that Chevy chose to keep the price of their benchmark car down at the expense of the performance exhaust's reputation. It's as if they're saying "we know people will buy it even if it doesn't make the car go a lick faster." And I'm sure this bit of trivia will be vigorously regurgitated in every discussion about the option. Which makes me wonder -- have we gotten a good listen to a car without it yet?

Sometime back I had read that the 2014 will automatically compensate for E85 with a horsepower boost of around 30 HP. Don't know if that was just a guess or if someone on the inside had real actual info.
