No, change I can deal with, change isn't what's painful here...It's looking at the complete mess the Aztek/Camaro design staff made of the back end of the C7 that's painful.
Ouch! Ow Ow Ow
Wow that really hurts!
Take four round tail lights and don't call me in the morning ;-)

Well, each is entitled to their opinion. That is among the many things that makes it great to be American. My opinion is that this is just freakin beautiful, a genius design. Those don't look like tail lights, they look like afterburners, I suspect that was the intention. Very cool.

On the original poster's question, I am warming up to it
I think it looks better in dark exterior colors as has been mentioned.
Honestly, something new that changes something old
is always hard to get used to. NO ONE can deny that it is a very modern look...and that was the right direction to take the car, into the future

It's funny that you've picked up on this whole thing because you are buttsore about my mentioning what a loser the Challenger is today even when I wasn't talking about YOUR Challenger.
But face it - even you have to admit that its a Fiat Challenger now. Fiat owns it and calls the shots. That may well help it in the future but for now they are just trying to copy the past. Today, it's a Crysler 300 with a big engine that sits in last place when you consider all the different models of Camaros and Mustangs that can clean it's clock. If lots of people really LOVED these cars, they would sell a lot better than they do.
Hey, I loved the good old days of Dodge/Plymouth muscle cars. They have never handled well but at least they had imagination when it really meant something. I know because I grew up around '68-'71 Challengers, 'Cudas, Chargers, GTXs, Roadrunners, Super Bees, RTs, etc. when they were brand new. Lots of 440 six packs, 426 Hemis, 383s and they were a blast to ride in and sometimes drive, as long as it was in a straight line. My high school car was a '65 Dodge Polara with a 383 4bbl. Like a lot of the older guys here, I rode in Rat motors and Hemis before you were born. An older friend of mine bought one of the few of these 440 Six-pack Super Bees and I rode in it a lot. First car I ever went 140 mph in. I think that was it's top speed!
As to the Viper, it isn't bad, it just looks like a clown shoe to me and a lot of other car guys. Lord knows, I didn't make that one up!

Those old Muscle cars are badass and even though they where made before I was born I still have a ton of respect for them as they are great cars. You should try that. A great car is a great car no matter who makes it, or who is partnered up with who makes it. Truth is Chrysler is in better shape now because of the Fiat Merger. So is GM because of the "Obama" Merger. Both of these companies would be dead without outside help, which they thankfully both got.
As far as a Mustang or Camaro "cleaning it's clock" that is great if that was the only reason one was buying a car. I have a 505HP lightweight car that will smoke any Mustang or Camaro so that was not a primary concern. The Challenger is a cruiser it's comfortable and smooth and bigger and roomier than the other two competitors AND with the rear seats folded down it has practically SUV like storage capabilities. Plus to my eyes it is a better looking car.
If you ever expand your horizons to other marques you will see Viper owners are ecstatic about their new car as well as Challenger owners. There is no divide like there is here on this new C7 design.
The new Gen V Viper already has 4 models out in it's FIRST year - each one more radical and powerful than the preceding one. including two race only models and the GT3 viper is available to purchase to the public. You say Fiat I see American flags and racing. Corvette C7 needs to step up:
LeMans car:
New Viper GT3:
No clown shoes anywhere to be seen.
