Default New TPW - 7/29

Just got off chat with Chevy Customer Assistance and was told my 7/1 TPW has been moved back to 7/29. It is still at 3000 and delivery takes 6-8 weeks after production begins.

Oh well, looks like the earliest I'll see my C7 will be mid to late September, unless something changes.

Must be a problem somewhere. I would guess now that the plant won't be gearing up in late June any longer. I heard a long time ago that GM said late Sept or early Oct before one would start seeing them at Dealers.

Yes. I think October before most of us see our cars. Even the real early buyers from big Corvette dealers.

According to GM'er, the TPW is assigned when event code is 3300!!

Well then, I guess I'm further along than I surmised.

Schilitj, are you getting the #1 car at the dealership? Also, the 6-8 week delivery seems long. The car should be done during the TPW. I would guess it may sit for a while due to the quality control delay, but 6-8 weeks seems excessive.

You can bet a large number of the early production C7's will see a quality audit. I would guess about 25%. I would not hesitate to say NO C7's will be shipped until all the issues found in each one of the quality audits are checked on EVERY C7 prior to being shipped. These cars will be perfect prior to being shipped.

Yes,#1 at Rosner in Melbourne, FL. I hope you are correct about an earlier delivery date.

I just got off a chat with Chevy customer assistance and they couldn't tell my the status code for my order, but they did say that the TPM is 7/8.

I'm still convinced that the first batch of 900 or so cars will ship close to the same time, early August. One to each dealer.

I have no faith in Chevy Customer Assistance chat line, first they gave me a TPW of 7/29 that was on June 6th then another source said I was at 3000, yesterday the chat line again gave me a TPW of 7/29. Now I know for sure that a valid TPW is not obtained till status code 3300, by chance stopped in at my dealers today and talked to the manager that handles GM Workbench, he showed me the printout of all his pending orders, it was printed yesterday PM and my order was there at 3000 with no TPW indicated. So I have no idea where the people at the chat line get their info because I do not think anyone is at 3300.

Now from another thread here we see there is a indication that the factory will be taking their usual summer vacation, which is usually the last week June first week July.

So here is my major question and no one has answered with factual information to date. "What date will the factory start producing production vehicles?" When we find that out then we have a starting point.

My dealer was looking for his 1st allocation last Thursday, got pushed back a week. Called me today and said it has been pushed back to next week.

If they are only 6 weeks away from production, shouldn't they have the final specs, particularly weight, by now?

There is so much speculation and misinformation coming from Chevy-Tracking site and on the CF that I'm going to sit back and enjoy my 18 year old Dewars scotch and wait for the phone call from my dealer telling me my C7 is at his dealership.

No sense having expectations raised then blown up every other day.

Just remember it's 5pm somewhere so enjoy Happy Hour

I would be very careful on this one. Every one of the 900 Corvette dealers got their first car to build either last week or the week before. There will not be any more cars to build (move past code 1100) before mid July. If you want to post up your order number, I will do some more checking.

GM'er

What, no comment on my most recent post

The folks on the CF are really keeping you busy. Thanks for the prompt feedback and cautionary tone.

GM'er, I have been very concerned on this. I had a lengthy conversation with the manager yesterday and was told he had accepted the first concensus offering and was waiting for the actual allocation. He said he would have till the next day to place the order, so we held off on entering the order until we were sure of color.

Jeff, I'm not about the drama. I have a system I check and it says what it says. I have no idea what the chat or assistance line are using.

Like I speculated in another thread, my theory on why the TPWs went away is because we have not officially announced when production will start, so we are not putting TPWs in the system.

Who knows, maybe the chat line has a direct link to the plant and their internal schedule has more info than the system I check. I have no idea. I can only do what I can do.

With most of you guys spending over $60k on a car (which I'm sure isn't the only car in your driveway) I want to do everything I can personally to make sure you have the best buying experience possible, and get the most accurate up to date info I can provide.

You have lots of buying choices, and I appreciate the business you give to Chevrolet.
