Now That We know the final numbers, what do you think?
I know this has been beaten to death already, but I haven't seen a poll on this. Now that we know the final numbers, what do you guys think? Are the final numbers higher than expected, lower than expected? Did it effect your decision on getting the car?

I'm buying one. Would buy it at 450HP, 460HP, 475HP, or whatever. Anyone on the fence may want to wait for 1/4 mile trap MPH which is a far better barometer of street performance than many of the other parameters.

I agree that lap times and quarter mile times and trap speeds are of more significance, but now that we know the power numbers and weight, we can make some pretty good guesses. To me, it doesn't seem like it will be that much faster than the C6. Maybe a tenth, and a mph or so in the quarter.

Actually, we don't have the final numbers. I am still waiting for the mpg. Assuming the zero to 60 is under 4 seconds, I would rather have 1 extra mpg that I will use 100% of the time, then an extra 20 hp that I would be able to use less then 1% of the time.

You have got to be kidding me! You are buying a car with 455HP and are worrying about mileage! You need a Toyota Prius. Get real, please!!!!

455HP is a 55 horse jump in performance from my current 2006 C6. I could tell the difference between the 350HP C5 and the 400HP C6 and I'm sure you will notice the power increase in the C7. What concerns me can the power be put on the ground? I can smoke the tires with 400HP, hopefully the engineers have applied some traction devices to help. If the power isn't usable it will only be a conversation item. (I have 455 HP!) - unfortunately can't use it.

My guess is the car will trap in the 120 to 121 range. Definitely extremely quick for a stock base Corvette. I'm even confident it'll run 11.9's stock. Way more than enough power for 95% of buyers.

It is going to be fast and get great mileage even if it is a high performance truck engine (low rpm torque and more torque than horsepower) I will probably buy the high performance version in a couple of years. It will not be nearly as fun to drive as an ls7 where the power builds as the rpms increase. Most drivers never run stuff hard so no problem for them. I am actually more excited about this engine for my next Silverado. It will be perfect for the trucks(5.3). Any sports car that gets heavier by this much is not something to celebrate...we already have incredibly fast Caddies, Benzes, and Bmw's.

I think the HP & TQ #'a are fine, leaves room for upticks as the model progress's over the life of the generation, which works for my timeline of model year 3 (2016)

i wanna know the performance numbers, 0-60, quarter mile, and some well known tracks.
there is more to performance than hp, the portly nissan GTR is a good example, torque, gearing and suspension play their part to.

Here's my take and I know some people will agree with me and others will disagree...the opposing sides on this forum are more than clear by now.
Basically, at a certain point, the HP numbers just become a dick measuring contest. If the C7 has "only" 460hp, but does 0-60 in 3.7-3.9 seconds and the quarter in the 11s then nobody really has the right to complain as you're not going to find another factory bone stock car for $50k that performs anywhere close to that. Hell, you're not going to find many $100k cars(other than the GT-R) that will put up similar numbers. And honestly, aside from anyone with the last name Andretti or Schumacher, who is really going to use all of that power on normal roads?
It basically comes down to bragging rights, which is fine, but ultimately irrelevant in normal everyday use where the car will be more than enough for 99.9% of people. Now I'll sit back and wait for the fallout.

I have a C6 and a Prius and MPG is important to me. If the C6 had an MPG rating of 15 I wouldn't own one. I'm not going to buy a new C7 but I will probably be looking at a used one in a couple years and I would hope the gas mileage would be an improvement from the C6. I guess the ballers here couldn't care less about how many $ they put in the tank but I'm guessing a lot of people do.

I own a Camry Hybrid and a '05 Vette 6spd. I like the fact that I can get 26-30 mpg with my Vette on hwy trips. With premium gas prices where they are, it certainly does matter to me because I am really cheap!

The only reason they tout the MPG is because ford did the same thing with the mustang and it help sell. Regardless of stating it, they are required to have it pretty high anyways.

I can have lunch at a restaurant 2 miles from my home and save $37.59 in gas.
It's all about how you want to live your life(within your personal $$$$$$ means).
My 64 Vette gets half the gas mileage that my Z06 gets, yet I also drive it.

I will drive my Z06 on a 250 mile cruise just to have lunch on a Saturday afternoon.
