Now that we got numbers, lets talk performance.

Any guesses at what this thing will do in 0-60 and the 1/4 mile?

Lets start speculating.

Can't wait until the mags or Randy Pobst get their hands on the car.

Not sure where you get those Z06 numbers. The C7 has close to the same power-to-weight ratio as a base C6, which is a 12.3@116 car.

The C7 Z51 has better traction than the C6 Z06 and has the same torque curve. In addition, the transmission in the C7 Z51 is geared more aggressively than the C6 Z06. The LT1 also has more RPM range than the LS3.

Expect these numbers to be close.

In my opinion this car will make things in the rear view mirror get smaller quickly. It will also get me busted for speeding if I do not pay attention. Now that's performance..

My expectations are as you stated.

Should be a blast...

Not to mention braking and handling.

As an everyday driver I look forward to the improved interior and nvh as well.

Less wear and tear (focus) on the driver means better performance too.

The steering feel should be more precise.

Not trying to start a fight, but what you state is also true for the C6. I expect the C7 to be a little faster then the current model, so the figures posted earlier sound about right. I do expect that the C7 will handle better that the C6 and it will out preform it to a degree.

In a drag race, the low and mid range torque becomes meaningless. Once you get up to redline in first gear, and continue shifting at redline in each gear, the rpms never drop below about 5500-6000. The torque does not help 60' times on stock tires because at the launch you are traction limited.

My 1/4 mile time guess is 12.2 at 118-119. BTW, I'm not talking about the best internet time, I'm talking mainstream magazine times. Under perfect conditions and a great driver, there will be times on the forum in the 11's just like there are a few for C6's.

GM stated early on that 0-60 will be under 4 seconds. I have no clue on 1/4 mile times.

Easily under 12 seconds going down hill with a tail wind and being pulled by the draft of a Viper!!

His numbers are a pretty good guess. A stock LS3 C6 A6 can run 11's in good air.

99.5% of the time you will run mid 12's... you will need a tire to hit 11's in a stock A6

Go to this thread and go to post 4. There is a showroom stock grouping. There are a few people in the 11's and a bunch in the low 12's. I watched one driver do it at E-town a few years ago. The A6's are a beast. The LT1 has more torque, more HP and better launch control. It should see 11's regularly.

It's all a guess...but the electronic differential, better tires, much beefed up torque curve and rev matching 7 speed should make for faster average driver acceleration times. Launch control might be improved on the c7 as well.

Till we see gearing none of us know for sure.

Actual published GM data would help define the answer.

I am confident good drivers will extract even better numbers that are dam close to scm crashes estimates

I've run 12.3/12.4's all day long with my A6 06 LS2 at Englishtown with my stock run flats. All I had was a Vararam & 160 deg. stat. I would assume that the LT1's will have a better air intake, better stock exhaust and the A6 or M7 gearing is better than an 06. Wouldn't you? So, I can only speculate that stock they should run in the very low
12's or high 11's on a good air day. About the same as the stock 427 Verts would not be too far from reality.

You make a good point about launch control. That will help as I would assume that every generation it gets better.

What about drivetrain loss with the new, bigger tranny? You guys think more power will be loss though the 7 speed then the 6speed?
