Have the HP numbers changed your buying decision
Now that we know the official power ratings lets see if they have any influence on ones purchasing decision. Specifically interested in seeing if any of the nay sayers have changed camps and are now planning to get a C7.

They wouldn't admit it if they had. Not in their character

On the contrary Jim. Never planned on getting the car in its current form or power plant but if I was I'd be quite disappointed with the hp numbers. All the talk of aero and torque is a crock, the car is weak period. Same camp here!

Safety Car
I know you dislike when I'm negative towards the C7 but as time goes on it just seems to get worse, the car that is! God help the C7 if it is a problematic mess, between the lousy economy and skepticism about the redo it could get messy! I'm not fooled for one minute that some Corvette enthusiasts like the car, the real world numbers will tell the tale.

I doubt it changed anyone's decision. The trolls weren't going to buy anyway. Apparently 455-460hp is weak for them now.

Not in the least. My order was in when all we had was 450hp est. I'm buying the total package(car) not HP... Its the sum of its parts that make the it a success for me. Time will tell if the rest of the auto industry feels the same once the cars are out in the real world with real world performance and driving experiences...

How is it worse? GM and everyone involved with the new Corvette has been talking about the number as 450HP. It came in above that so how did it get worse???

Truer words have not been stated.......it is in peoples nature to be a certain way for sure.......Mine: Love it, love hearing people excited and get turned off right away by the comments about tail lights and front vent grills chrome...thin tires....etc.....Get in drive and hold on...thats what its all about....Or we could make it an artform of sitting on a website and dreaming for months about something or complaining about something for months.....LOL...we just did!!!!!

I was referring to aspects of the car, the skinny tires, the now known real disappointing hp numbers, even the awkward appearance rolling at Indy. The car may be liked by some, but it certainly is not liked by others. I think the car deserves a C maybe a C-.

why would I want to give up 50 HP and put on 123 pounds?

I have been in support of the C7 from the get go but I have to agree with you in many respects
The torque and the new features of the C7 are nice but I would not give up a C6Z get one
I think GM should have done better........ after all with all of the tech of the new LT1 it only would have taken the brush of a keystroke to have made it 475/475 or better yet with little more cam
The only reason it is so low is they made it be this low on purpose
If the millage was 20/35 it would be different but it is not

I like the C7. But most Z and ZR owners will wait for the C7 hi-po variant(s).

455hp is quite strong and competitive. Even coming from a car with a lot more power, I don't understand how anyone can call that weak.
The only people disappointed are the guys who fell for the hype. Whether that was through the magical E85 capabilities, VVT/DI speculation, the engineers 'chuckling' at the 450 estimate, or believing that Bigg Gunnz troll on LS1tech.
IMO, anyone that was seriously interested in buying the C7 when it was still estimated at 450hp would still be interested today.
