Default Must be Very special paint

If you got a 2014 Impala in Crystal Red Tintcoat it would cost an additional $395 for that color. Crystal Red Tintcoat for the C7 will run you $995. For the 6 Franklin's is it radar/lazier proof, never needs washing or waxing and have a deflector beam?

It's a penalty for picking a clor that's available on the Impala.

It's saves 2 ounces of weight over the Impala "base" paint. Therefore, it's worth more!

They can keep that color for the Impalas... CR does not seem to look that good on the C7 anyway.

I'll stick with the hot new color Laguna Blue.

Yep and we just bought a 2014 Impala LTZ in Crystal Red. What an improvement over the older Impala.

Doesn't the blue cost money too?

The Corvette Premium Tint Coat colors have definitely gotten more expensive in the past half dozen years.

Just like real estate. Location, location, location. In this case the location is on a Vette.

So, that shade of blue is unique to the C7 or is the name of the color unique to the C7? :

I've seen other Chevys running around in Carlisle Blue, but I'm sure that wasn't the name of the color on those cars.

They build/sell many more cruze's and impala's so changing the body shop to a "premium" color yields more cars of that color reducing the cost since it is averaged among more cars.

Also, corvette tax.

Unique to the C7. Paint code is WA-135X. Not found on any other model.

It's not Corvette tax. Every car at almost every manufacturer has extra costs to certain paints. Nothing new here, move along.

So was CRM in the beginning... If the blue proves to be popular you will see it on other Chevy's eventually.

Did you read the thread???

CRM on a Cruze $325
CRM on an Impala $395
CRM on a Corvette $995

That is a Corvette tax. $600 to $670 more than the same color on different models from the same manufacturer.
