My third Corvette, and I always wave. Some don't wave back, and some seem surprised and then give a tentative wave.
Most, however, wave back with a smile. I'm with the OP, "Save the Wave"

I'm bringing up this old thread because it's so true. The first drive when i purchased my car I saw a 2 c6 and 1 c7 vette. And i know they saw me, we made eye contact. I waved for sure and i got nothing back. Like pretty much F you damn young kid type of deal. Joining the corvette community and owning one is such a joy... I still have my other 2 cars as well. (DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON PORSHE DRIVERS THEY ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH IMHO) This photo was taken the morning of our weekend cruise right before we left. My woman drove my built STI, my brother in law drove my very stock looking EVO and i drove the Vette... Subaru owners are some of the nicest people around, Mitsushity owners are kinda whatever... but damn. I'm on a mission to save the wave for sure!
Before I even got the car id be rolling around flashing thumbs up and stuff to the very owners here down and so cal and very rarely would i get any response.
If you guys live in so cal give a brother a wave for once, it aint gonna kill ya! Geez.

I flash a peace sign/palm raise when I can. I used to do the same with other Challenger owners when I had that car and it was slightly more rare than it is now.

I got a wave from an older albeit in great shape blond driving a vert MB today. At the light she told us she has had four Vettes and said she loved each one but the C7 is the best.
I got another wave from a Ford so I concluded the driver has a Vette.
Yesterday I briefly spoke with a gentlemen in a blue Z51 on RT309, I asked him to drive ahead so I could get a look at him (his car)! It is a treat following behind another C7 and hearing the exhaust notes.

I will wave back but gave up initiating the wave.

I have a C7 and 2 Harleys. The Vette guys around here never wave back but almost all bikers wave no matter what they ride. Truth be known i probably have more sport bikers wave at me than Harley guys.

Vette guys are difficult to say around here. Not really worried either way. Bikers, totally disagree with you. When I was riding the HD, I get a lot of waves from HD riders. When we are on the wife's trike, you don't get quiet the same number of waves from HD as you will with the metric bikers and that is me being generous. IMO, on her CanAm Spyder, it is about a quarter to a third of the waves I get with the HD. For me, it's just an old tradition that is dying out. You wave, out of courtesy, I wave. You don't, no biggie. Not going to get bent out of shape if you don't.

For all you young whippersnappers... the gesture (wave) was here in the fortys between returning service guys driving their MG's and Jags, smiling ear to ear, happy to just be alive! ... there WAS no other sports cars on earth!.. None... well.. only in Berkeley! .....
