Purchased a set of Car Quest platinum professional brake pads (2017 Grand Sport) so tired of brake dust.
Pads had a great pedal fill. 2 hours back roads driving & wheels we’re still 90% clean. Advance auto parts sells pads.

Those are great pads. I had them on my '06 Mustang GT, and now on my Yoda truck. But, my luck was when I wanted them for my GS (back in January) they didn't have any at that time. At least that's what the guy at my Car Quest told me.

I’m assuming all these brake dust threads are related to C7’s other than base models. I have a base C7 and have zero brake dust. Should I be concerned when I may need to stop quickly?

Carquest (Advanced Auto) website shows that this part number does NOT fit 2019 Grand Sport.

ETA: Looking further into it, I input a 2018 GS and came up with 2 different part numbers. One for J56 brake option code and one for J55 brake option code

But neither one shows as fitment for 2019. Whether that is just them not updating their software, or a change from 2018 to 2019 from GM, I have no idea. Maybe someone else can shed some light .......

Yes, you should be very concerned. Any one not experiencing objectionable brake dust on their wheels is riding in a potential death trap. Recommend you immediately install twin parachutes to avoid risk of life.

The standard base model brake is by far the best they have put on compared to all previous gens. Good stopping power and clean for street use. Repeated use like on a race track is different story.

You're fine sir. As stated those pads are very good pads. The wheels on my previous '16 base car stayed quite clean between washings.

Are the 2018 and 2019 Grand Sport brakes the same or have changes been made?

So the op is saying he put semi-metallic brake pads on GS and no dust? I never heard of that before on a GS whether it be a C6 or a C7

They are the same. If you order remember the numbers "1405" is the designation for the front brakes. The rear brakes are designated "1718". Most all of the brake suppliers (manufacturers) I researched use these same last 4 numbers for their stock numbers, i.e. Power Stop pads uses Z26 for their track pads then the designating numbers "1405" for the front (Z26-1405). For their Z23 street pads it's "Z23-1405" for the front. The rears will end in "1718".

These numbers are for the 2-peace rotors only. GS cars with the Z07 package have different numbers.
