Default Weight gain in Z51?

Compared to the base car please estimate added weight to vehicle with the Z51 package, e.g. Engine oil reserve tank (dry sumped), additional oil hoses and brackets, larger rotors, larger and wider wheels. Please reply with your guesstimate.

Z51 will weigh more than the base car (provided that the two coupes or two convertibles being compared are optioned identically otherwise of course) but I think it will be by less than roughly 40 pounds more total.

Lose a few lbs. Or, drive around with a quarter tank of gas. You will never know the difference.

The tread did say "guesstimate", so I see no problem putting a number out. So far most are believe able however.

Oil tank 8 lbs. related hoses and brackets 8 lbs., brakes 6 lbs., wheels 8 lbs, tires 10 lbs, aero stuff 4 lbs, guesstimate total 44 lbs. equivalent to about 5 gallons of gas, not too bad IMO.

I'm guessing 52 pounds, based on what was posted in the C&D video made in January.

Oh, and gas weighs around 6.25 pounds per gallon, not 8.8 pounds per gallon. You're thinking about the weight of water.

Wow, I didn't realize gas was so much lighter than water

I guess we could shave some weight by filling the radiator with gasoline.
