Yes I'm afraid the front of the rear wheel will attract every stone within fifty feet of the vehicle with horrible results. However, I'm not going to stress over it. If the abrasion gets to the point that I can't stand, it is off to the body shop for touch up. If you put some sort of protection to prevent abrasion, that also looks funky. The car depreciates rapidly, might as well have a reason. When the new look is gone time to trade. I'm not getting carried away with preservation, why save it?

I may put a clear wrap on the car. I'm not worried about saving the car forever but I'd like the car to continuously look good.

I certainly hope they put a good strong clear coat on these cars.

Default necessity is the mother

of invention. If there is a market for no OEM splash guards a third party vendor will be selling them. A 'I can't name him here' vendor made inexpensive splash guards for the C6. Bought a set and 7 years later I don't even notice they are on there. In fact, I never noticed them. So don't worry, a white knight will ride to your rescue if a buck is to be made.

I would think no one is going to make any aftermarket product until they have a production car available for inspection.

If you look at the pictures of the C7 they are using for the pace car the full length of the rocker area is taped. It appears different from the high impact road rash areas of the C6.

I spent yesterday afternoon cleaning and waxing my 2010 Grand Sport that has the build in splash guards front an back for those wide tires, the paint behind the splash guards was in perfect condition.
I was thinking the exact same thing for my future C7 Z51, splash guards will be needed to protect the paint!

I have not seen one, and it seems a bit odd to have guards out already for a car that hasn't been made ?? But I suppose anything is possible . . .

I prefer the clear wrap. Which is easy as soon as they have a car to take measurements and shape.

You bet, we will have them available before Christmas. The day the C7 is delivered, we will start measuring and tearing it apart to make new parts!
