My sacrifice for the C7...

Sold the wife's Corrolla and M6. She now only drives the 4Runner (preggo). The 4Runner was my daily driver. So I guess I sacrificed that...and bought a silverado for myself LOL. I love it when a plan comes together . Still got my corvette and Chevelle...

I've got an AMG SL55 and if I went from its' HP and Torque to what you get in a Kia I'd probably just go ahead and snort a giant line of AJAX....it would be less painful.

That is just an AWESOME looking ride! Congratulations on a job very well done. The only problem with building them is that you see all the faults, all the time, IF that car has any.

^ we almost bought one of those last year (2009 m-y only, right ?), but got something a bit older/smaller instead.
The Borrego was white w/tan leather, and loaded with stuff...I thought it rode well and would have been a good
full-size SUV to own. Any specific reason you sold yours ?

Sounds like we did things backwards. I sold my 10 Z and an 11 MKX when we downsized as we move into retirement and got a 12 E92 M3 as a practical car until we settle down somewhere. Hopefully the ol lady will figure that out by the time the Z whatever the hell its going to be called shows up because thats my next ride.

Sometimes in life you make sacrifices to get what you want
Having 3 kids in the house and convincing my wife to let me buy a 2 seat Corvette was... well... challenging, in spite of the fact that it is rare any of the kids are in my car So we agreed that if I bought an inexpensive and practical AWD winter vehicle she would concede. Fast cars aren't fun in Canadian winters in any event so for 5 months a year having a practical, not fun car isn't a big deal (that is me trying to justify). I have been driving a Mercedes C63 coupe which is my year round daily driver. Before that were 2 E92 M3s.
Well, this past Wednesday I sold the C63 and bought a 2013 Kia Sportage Going from 482hp/443ft.lbs to 170ish HP is quite a system shock. Not to mention all of my friends and colleagues respond with "you are driving WHAT!!"
So, until the C7 arrives I will be driving the Sportage. Not a bad CUV and decent value for the $$ but I think I have lost part of my soul Anyone who says to me that I have to "prove" I'm actually going to buy a C7 again will get a slap in the head I've only had the Kia for a couple of days but I can honestly say that the C7 now can't come fast enough.
Hopefully the rest of you don't need to make the same sacrifice to get both a C7 and avoid a divorce

To me it makes perfect sense what you did. Having a cheap daily driver to get around town in during the winter and crap weather days.
Drive the Kia. But truly experience and enjoy the Stingray.

Beautiful car. Factory Five, Superformance, ERA...? Always wondered if those cars are a bitch to maintain, constantly in need of tweaking and fixing.

What makes you think the person is a liberal hippie ? I live in an extremely conservative area of rural TX and catch flack from people driving their dually extended cab pick ups and monster suv's about the lack of cargo and passenger space. I love pizzing them off by reminding them that I get in excess of 30 mpg on the highway.
