I am #8 of 10 coupes allocated to my dealership. I placed deposit on May 27 and the salesman said he was guessing an Oct/Nov delivery date. This is my first Corvette so I knew very little about the options, history, etc of Corvette. After reading posts from this forum, I decided to add MSRC to my Z51. I made this change and the salesman told me he definitely expected the car in September. As this was after I had already ordered the car I assumed that this was his best guess. However, having read the posts here, I am thinking that the original Oct/Nov dates looks more accurate then September at least. This is the first car I have ordered since 1979 so I am learning to be patient. I did an online countdown timer for October 15. I will break the 11,000,000 sec mark on Tuesday wow can't believe how time flies. At least with a second timer it seems like I am making progress :-).

The allocation sounds low, but I assure you I am not an expert. I'm just reading this board and learning too.

My dealer said I was one of the first 5 cars ordered, and he also said it would be November. I'm hoping he is under-promising, and plans to over-deliver. We'll see. He also said they sell about 25 Corvettes a year, so I guess he is not one of the big players. And I would speculate that his orders are somewhat behind the big guys.

Where did you find the countdown?

Here's the link: http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/to?month=10&day=15, of course that one is set for my guess of October 15 but once you are there you can set your own. It's pretty cool because all I have to do is go to the link and my date is saved so I don't have to reenter anything.

Congrats on coming over to the dark side! Once you buy a Corvette, it becomes addicting... Like tattoos and crack.

You're going to love it! This I'm sure of. Looks like you'll be getting your C7 before me. I'm scheduled for a December delivery.

Oh, and don't forget to wave!

The Oct date is my guess, dealer said Oct/Nov then moved it to September but after reading the posts I am thinking even October may be optimistic. I believe that I left the dark side to come over to the Corvette as my previous cars were two Porsches (Boxster S then Cayman S).

Great way to look at it!

I have to admit it was weird saying the Corvette was the darkside. But then again, the Corvette has the most gotten the most flak out of all the sports cars. I think the C7 is GM's way of telling the rest of the world to shut up. LOL

Guess I will find out about Corvette "flak". Just let my membership in Porsche Club of America (PCA) lapse and I guess I will go shopping for a Corvette Club. However, my Carman S was a really nice car and I am going to avoid the C7 vs 911 thread on this forum. A good car is a good car and a great car is even better. I just watched a video where the Miata MX 5 blew away the following in the 1/4 mile: Corvette Grand Sport, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mustang, Porsche 91Carrera and Lotus: link:http://blogs.automotive.com/video-wo...-2-141213.html so to each his own.

This should help.

3000 = Accepted By Production Control (Order input into the production system)
3100 = Sequenced (Order sequenced for Production)
3300 = Scheduled For Production (Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle, this will have a valid TPW with it)
3400 = Broadcast (Order sent to build & supplier areas to bring order together)
3800 = Produced (Order is built and VIN# shows in the Dealer Order system)

CRABBYJ published this list some time ago from 2004.

1100 Preliminary Order Accepted
2000 Accepted by GM
2500 Preferenced
3000 Accepted by Production Control
3300 Scheduled for Production
3800 Produced

You have a different numbering system, apparently for 2014. Where did you get the info?

Ok. Heres one for the crowd. Rick Hendrick in Atlanta is allocated only 34 cars. Crazy for a corvette dealer of that size to only have that few.

Is that for the first 6 ~ 9 months, if so they only sold 40 to 50 Vettes last year. Or is it for the first consensus ??

These have been standard Workbench codes for the last few years. Below are the major codes, also there are many more codes in between some of the major ones.

1100 = Preliminary Order (Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not used allocation to place order)
2000 = Accepted By GM (Dealer used allocation to place order into production)
2500 = Preferenced (Order pulled to the production system)
3000 = Accepted By Production Control (Order input into the production system)
3100 = Sequenced (Order sequenced for Production)
3300 = Scheduled For Production (Order is scheduled into the plant build cycle)
3400 = Broadcast (Order sent to build & supplier areas to bring order together)
3800 = Produced (Order is built and VIN# shows in the Dealer Order system)
4150 = Invoiced (Order is invoiced to the dealer)
4200 = Shipped (Vehicle is shipped to the dealer or point of delivery)
5000 = Delivered To Dealer
6000 = Delivered To Customer

These are the only ones we want to see

I guess what I meant to ask was does a dealer get this info from his computer? And is it his choice as to whether or not they reveal this to a customer?

You are correct, the dealer is the only source, unless you know someone that has access (Like GM'er). I do not know why a dealer would not keep you informed or at least tell you if you ask, after all you are the customer.

When did you place your order, and how are you so certain you are at 3100?

Munday Chevrolet (north Houston) can only say they placed an order for me. Nothing else as of today (June 10th), but they cashed a large deposit check (May 1st).
