This may give you some hope. Back in '04 my relatively small dealer had initially 9 allocations for '05 C6s and I was #1 on their list. My order (SRE-Retail Sold) was:
1100 Preliminary Order Accepted 2004-06-12
2000 Accepted by GM 2004-06-12
2500 Preferenced 2004-06-15
3000 Accepted by Production Control 2004-06-16
3300 Scheduled for Production 2004-08-05
3800 Produced 2004-08-19
1100 Preliminary Order Accepted 2004-06-12
2000 Accepted by GM 2004-06-12
2500 Preferenced 2004-06-15
3000 Accepted by Production Control 2004-06-16
3300 Scheduled for Production 2004-08-05
3800 Produced 2004-08-19
And where did you get the (SRE-Retail Sold) info? I don't see it anywhere.

SRE-Retail Sold is the term used on the print out showing my C6 was ordered specifically for me with my specifications. At 3800 it even has the VIN listed, my name/address, and the selling Chevy Dealer.
The Dealer can print out a succession of this document every time an additional Event Code is completed. That is rediculous but they could at least look it up periodically with a phone call to them.
This was back then. Someone else can verify if it is still this way or if there is another way to track your order, even without the Dealers assistance.

I got an order number from my dealer and can track it here:
http://www.chevrolet.com/ownership/o...er.extapp.html
You can too. Just ask your dealer for the order # for your car.
Now, I guess I'll check it often to see when the dealer actually gets a production allocation, and this car is plugged in to it.

I don't see the numbers you showed, but the tracking site does show various stages of manufacture, from Order Placed to At The Dealership. I guess this is somewhat an On-Line version of what you saw in 2004.
The only thing that is not confirmed is the name it is committed to (me?) and the notation that it is Retail Sold. So I'm back to hoping they follow through and actually sell it to me, rather than put it out on the dealer floor and hope someone comes along with a higher $$ offer. (I'm buying below MSRP.)

I never saw this site back then so I don't know if there are improvements but I'll take your word for it.

Who would do that to you? And why would you buy a car from a company that would? Caveat Emptor

With your money and time in this game, I would visit them and demand to see what they can bring up in the GM system to eliminate your concerns.
Without me having an order number and the state in which it is sold I can't see what you see accessing this site.

The online order tracking site (http://www.chevrolet.com/order-tracking.html) provides very little information. A printout from your dealer from the GM OrderWORKBENCH system has all of the information, including the retail sold indication, buyers name and address (this would be your address), the priority assigned to the order by the dealer, and the various RPO codes and the actual order status (currently 1100). My dealer provided me a printout.

During the C6 run, one of our original forum Sponsors, Ken Fichtner Chevrolet, would take your order number and run it through the system for you as a courtesy and tell you where you were standing. I don't know if he will be doing this for the C7.
I know the ones that had C6's on order, and had problems getting their selling dealer to look up the order number, sure appreciated the service Ken was providing.
Ken has always been a great asset to this forum.

I went to Kerbeck today and met Dave. Very informative conversation and he certainly knows whats going on. He said that withholding any production issues he expects to see 14 in his showroom by August!!! This is awesome news. He hopes to take many up to Carlisle and will be using them in the Miss America Pagent. Having driven one, he said the new interior was "incredable"! By the way he has some great hi-end C6 inventory. Very nice stuff if your a C7 hater (not me)...this could be your chance to get a nice discounted C6. Me...I cant wait to get my CG C7 Z51 (hopefully sooner than later)

I don't know how many Munday sold in 2013, but they sold 40 C6's in 2012. To be in the top 50 dealers in 2012 they needed to sell at least 32 C6's in 2012.
Considering that the top 50 dealers sold 34% of the C6's sold, Munday is pretty high on the list of all Chevrolet dealers..
if they did sell that many in 2013, I would think their first round of allocations would be around 40-50 for the 2014 C6.
Sounds as if they are being truthful with you on their allocations.

Currently, their allocation is 35 (they say), but based on what you say, it suggests that they will get another allocation later. Either that, or Corvette may be scaling back production to keep sales and profits high.

Your info is much more detailed than mine. And I suspect that my info from them is their best guess, but isn't entirely accurate. No doubt from a lack of knowledge rather than trying to be deceitful.

But I also understand that only 900 dealers are getting C7's in the first round of allocations and that all Chevrolet dealers(that want to pay for the training and special tools) will be getting allocations in the second half of the model year. My understanding is that the 900 dealers in the first round also sell 80% of the Corvettes sold, so adding a bunch more dealers in the second round won't affect sales that much. Just a bunch more smaller dealers receiving a few C7's to sell.

My understanding is that the first round of allocations covers the first 6-9 months of production and then the dealers will receive their second round of allocations to cover the remainder of the model year. From the little I've seen, it appears that the number of cars in their first round of allocations is equal to or a little more than the number of 2013 C6's they sold for the entire year. It appears that GM is planning to build around twice the number of 2014 C7's then they built of 2013 C6's.

The order tracking site
http://www.chevrolet.com/ownership/o...er.extapp.html
seems to be missing something. It looks like there should be pictures there of the exterior and the interior. Does anyone else see pictures, or do we have to wait on that for GM to actually enter them, along with the data on their build-a-car site?
