When will the first C7 be Delivered?

"Storage" of built cars at the factory is apparently limited to 1400 units. If your estimates are close to correct, then the first 900 cars will ship by the beginning of August. So I think your estimate of cars available in mid August at a dealer near you is very spot on, as our British neighbors say.

The #1 seller of Corvettes.
The first production coupe and first production convertible will go to Hendrick. I have heard from upper level people at the factory that there are close to 30000 pre-orders already. They will be ramping up the number of cars produced per day with the new assembly line. They can build more C7's per day than they could C6's.

I'm not disputing that someone told you this but I'm not buying for a moment that it's accurate information. If it was true that would have nearly all of the first year's production sold before production even starts.

LOL! Your dealer may have been talking about THEIR test-drive/showroom car.
My dealer told me they were getting on to show to people (but would not be sold) sometime in July-ish. It's the car people can get inside and play with the gadgets, but it's not a car that will end up getting sold (unless they mark it way down later next year).

And it won't be in July. Maybe sometime in September, possibly October.

My dealer has 29 allocated. (or was it 39?)
Either way, the salesman said there'd be one early as hell on the showroom to show off. Dunno if that's something official since they're a big dealership or if that's just them sending their first order in for their showroom model.

I would not be surprised if dealer cars show up before actual customer ordered cars. The reason: They need the car in the showroom and possibly for test drives to get more sales. I'm sure they will have PR events announcing it's arrival to drive in even more traffic.
Someone who has ordered their car comes second.

Dealers order their own cars as well as ordering customer cars. And, they put them in whatever priority they decide is best when they submit the build order.

Their job is to sell. If they believe they need three in the showroom, that is what they will do.

I never said the 30K preorder number was gospel, only that the number came from someone in the plant management. Could it have been hype? Quite possible.

My dealer suggests that they will put in their first 5 orders (of which mine is one) and then the plant builds them according to what they had already scheduled to build. If my order is one of the planned builds, then BG will deliver it quickly to the dealer for sale (presumably to me to fill my order, but it would not surprise me if someone saw it on the floor first and was willing to pay up just to get it quick). Otherwise my early order, not being part of the guesstimate/planning at the plant, is behind the planned builds, but my order is still kind of early and gets entered into the build system. The dealer will NOT say when to expect delivery of my car.

GM would then accept the "sold" order over an "unsold" order, when the supply was tight.

"In the past(and I assume the C7 will be the same), the dealers had to tell GM if the car is ordered for a specific customer(sold order) or is for dealer stock(unsold order).
GM would then accept the "sold" order over an "unsold" order, when the supply was tight."
This comports with what I was told by my (forum) dealer.
My order is in 1100 status, which is essentially meaningless as far as GM is concerned, but tells the dealer I'm serious. He told me to not be surprised if, after consensus, I get a call from GM to verify that this is a bona fide customer order and not just a disguised dealer order.
