I enjoy being in a lot of parades during the year and I do sometimes end up in traffic jams. That just kills my knee but, I'm not ready for surgery yet ! No one in my family can drive stick except my son-in-law and he's not getting his greasy motor head hands on my fob

My GF hasn't driven a manual in 10 years. But, she did learn on one. I think with rev matching she can do a pretty good job.

I'm not buying an auto just so she can drive it once and awhile. She's cute but not THAT cute!

I'd prefer a manual, but, I have an A6 now and really like the tranny. Plus, if my wife has to drive it in case of an emergency she can.

Manual in my C7. I have the A6 now in my '09, and after all this time I find it a little boring, even with the paddle shift.

I'd much prefer the manual, but after moving to the DC area (the traffic here is like no other) - I'll be getting the automatic.

Manual all the way. Of the 20 some lifetime Vettes I have owned only one was an automatic, i.e., an '82 Collector Edition. Stunning color combo. Hopefully, in a few MYs GM will offer something similar for the C7. And, hopefully a manual will still be available.

When I lived in the country I loved my 6 speed. But 45 min in traffic will cure that love in a hurry.

I've read the auto/paddle shifters is a few ticks quicker 0-60, so if that's correct, that's what I'll get.

Heh ........... I live way out in the country and I still want the automatic. After nearly fifty yrs of driving a big rig, I'm at the end of my rope with shifting gears.

The wife an I alternate transmission choice. Our current C5 is a manual, so it's her choice, and it will be an auto. Paddle shifters a must though.

Seriously? You'd base a transmission choice on a tenth or two difference in zero to sixty? That makes no sense to me whatsoever.

There is nothing more fun than a nice sounding V8 with a manual, even in LA traffic. Love it!

might as well get the manual while your can, once they trot out a DCT, you may not have a option.

If cost is the same or close, I think you're right. 20% of the Vette's sold will be manual at best. Put in a DCT and that drops to maybe 10.

At some point, it's not worth doing anymore.

Exotic cars that don't offer manual anymore:

Lamborghini Aventador
Ferrari (all)
McLaren (all)
Pagani
Merc Gullwing
Nissan GT-r
Toyota LF-A
Alfa Romeo 8C and 4C

now the Porsche GT3

The handwriting is on the wall.

If GM gets rid of the manual transmission for the Corvette, I will stop buying modern Corvettes. Whatever the last generation that offered them will be, that'll be the last generation I will ever buy.

I will simply go to a different market sports car that fits my needs.

That's pretty funny as Corvette will probably be the last to offer one.

I've heard the same from Ferrari owners but they still have long waiting lists even though they gave up the manual in 2010. Porsche owners are screaming about the Gt-3. I think Porsche knows what it's doing.

Don't blame manufacturers. Blame the buying public:
