Msrp?

Yes. MSRP minus $1000 from a forum dealer.

His order book is full for the first round of cars. I heard that the #2 Corvette dealer is offering a $500 discount off MSRP, but I have not confirmed that number. Could be a internet rumor, but worth asking for if you're talking with him.

It should be noted that for many years the dealer profit margin on GM compacts and intermediates was 19%, full size cars and Corvettes were 24%. Now it's about half that. Back then only a fool would pay sticker price. I wouldn't feel so bad giving a dealer MSRP nowdays for a hot car that is in high demand.

People that pay MSRP now are going to pay about $4000 - $7000 more for the same C7 someone else can order 18 months from now. That is still a good chunk of change.
Some of the people paying MSRP now for a C7 will be complaining in about 18 months about the big depreciation hit they took when comparing the MSRP price they paid, to the the car's book value.
If I spun everything back around the other way and you are less motivated to buy a C7 NOW at MSRP, I apologize.

I think that discounts of 4K to 7K 18 months from now is very optimistic thinking.

If there was ever a time where MSRP was 24% higher than Invoice, then no one was purchasing close to invoice price.

[QUOTE=89L98;1583860835]A $4000 - $7000 discount would represent invoice pricing. That is what hapened with the C6. Why would it not happen with the C7?

"How long after the C6 was introduced? When I bought my 2007 in 2007 that certainly was not the case." rcallen484 post # 15
I purchased my 09 Z06 in July 08(very early build June, 09) and paid $68,538 for a car with a MSRP of $80,015. That's $11,430 off.
I was looking at a 08 Z06(MSRP $77,790) in Sept/Oct 07 and I could get $8500 off MSRP at that time.
If you didn't get a healthy discount on a 07 in 07, then the dealer saw you coming a mile away.

So now you know the market throughout the US in 2007 on the Corvette I bought in 2007? What did I buy and where did I buy it? You think extremely egocentrically. Look it up...

I ordered in May/June 2006 and took delivery of my new 2007 C6 in August 2006 for invoice price from a forum dealer.
It was built during the 1st month of production of the 2007s.
