C7 testing with competition

You may want to analyze the photo I took at the bash. The red outline is the C7, the white outline...Porsche 911. The Porsche has a higher roof line, is the same length (actually, the body is a WEEE longer than C7), nearly same width, etc. C7 targeted the Porsche...100%.

Kind of strange that I find the windshield shape of the C6 so odd now. The C7 trimmed the windshield dramatically. Having been around C7's in Detroit, and now at the bash...from the front...C7 KILLS C6. This side view also...man, I love C6's, but C7 is gonna own those cars.

If you really want to test it against something, you should test it against the new F12. I drove this one a few weeks ago. 730 HP / 509 lb/ft torque with a V12 engine that screams to 8500 RPM. 0-62 in 3.1 sec. 211 top speed. Been in production about 9 months now.
Just... plain... awesome.

There is a similar principle at work here (reported near-miss, which in fact was not):
If you were sitting right on top of the DHL plane's engine, your perspective would be very different from this photographer's.

Certainly more rounded than the C7, but that is the design theme that Porsche thinks works best for them. With 911 sales up 20% last year compared to 2011, I'd say it doesn't need another update beyond moving from the 997 to the 991.

Sorry guys. Just can't help myself. Motor Trend editors & writers have clearly established themselves as "low & slow" when opining on C7 over the last 24 months. Inaccuracies abound. At the risk of insulting accomplished author Jimmy Breslin, Motor Trend is the Gang that Can't Shoot Straight.

My observation has been that they have slowly evolved into being "sleeker" than very early on. You disagree?

The simple fact is Porsche is subjected to the same issues everyone else is. With stricter crash requirements and the necessity to continuously increase performance/stiffness/etc...they've bloated in size. No big deal...you get a better car today than you did 20 years ago....same with Corvette.
