It's funny they are calling the 2014 a Grand Sport, rather than Z51.

hmm, looks like I see my next set.

There is one thing I don't understand, however. The sizes for a standard C6 and a standard C7 are the same. And so are the parts numbers for the Super Sports ZP (69693). But the specs call for a different UTQG speed and load rating (ex. 88Y for front on C6; 93Y for front C7). Wonder how they do that----presume the tire is built to the 93Y spec, and will suffice for the lesser, 88Y spec.

Nope. Even though the C6 GS outsells the coupe, we get f'ed on the newest Michelin technology....still no A/S, A/S ZP, etc

Looks that way, doesn't it? Lee Willard at the Bash presentation made some comment about the new tire possbily becoming available in C6/Z06/GS sizes, but no promises.

interesting that there's also no PS2 ZP for the C7 w/Z51 ("grandsport" in the chart above).

Well, there is PSS; no need for the PS2, which is being replaced by PSS anyway.

As Ozer said above, PS2 is being replace by the PSS. PSS grips better, costs less, is quieter, and lasts longer, up to 18% longer.

I hope they come out with an A/S ZP choice for the Z51 sizes.

that's in the C6 non-runflat version, I presume. Any comparable data yet for the C7 PSS run-flat version ?
I do suspect the results will be similar...and thanks for the info.

Why would you think PS2 would be similar to PSS? Because it comes with ZR1? PS2 is more than a decade-old tire. It used to be one of the best when it was introduced, but not much so these days. The new PS2 sizes and ZP version introduced later are not much different than the original tire in terms of traction, either. PSS is introduced in 2011, and provides better wet/dry traction while providing longer life. PSS ZP will not be hampered much by the run-flat add-on since the new run-flat tires only add about 1 lb to the overall weight, and new tire designs use the hard sidewall design that comes with the ZP tires for handling advantage anyway.

I would love to have PSS ZP in Z06 19"/20" sizes; one could only hope

I was referring to (asking about) the performance of the PSS in the new run-flat version, not the PS2.
Many here have commented quite favorably on the PSS tires, but so far the same are non-run flats.

there could be a difference in PSS performance between the two versions, but I certainly do not know.

I hope to test soon and give you an answer
Since I have been in a 2012 ZR1 with Tommy Milner punishing them for a few laps at WOT........the ZP and the design was derived from a combination of technologies found on the MICHELIN Pilot® Sport Cup ZP tire that helped the 2012 Corvette ZR1 post a 7:19.6 Nürburgring lap time with significant gains from the development of the MICHELIN Pilot Super Sport tire..........it will be a sticky ****

The cars weight is now biased differently so putting these tires on the older Vettes probably won't yield like results.

I don't get it; why would it be different? Both C6 and C7 have about 50/50 weight balance.
