C7 Prototype Was Unveiled Long Ago
Hello all,
I was going thru some pictures on my PC and came across this one, which is a screen shot of 100 Years of Chevy (or something like that) on Velocity Channel. I posted this a few months back after I saw it.
Welburn hinted that they were working on some very exciting designs and from the looks it's pretty obvious to me that this is an aerodynamic prototype of what the C7 will essentially look like, just less refined and not at all ready for public sale.
1. The hatch glass and lines blend with the rear CHMSL spoiler area in a similar way to the C& drawings.
2. Side 1/4 windows.
3. Polygon tailights with the mascara look drooping down.
Earlier in the show he had pulled back the cover on the front end to reveal hood vents, as well.
Northrop Aircraft did the same thing during the 70's with an aircraft named Tacit Blue which was just a mule used to test the stealth technology before they actually started churning out planes (http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/fac...eet.asp?id=353).

Except that is a sedan. I remember when the pictures hit the internet.

There are some design cues such as the hatch and the rear quarter window indeed. Just a few more days. 10 and counting.

I agree it looks like a sedan, but Wellburn said it was a prototype that they were really excited about concerning performance. I wish I had DVR'd the show because he almost alluded to the car being a test vehicle for something other than a sedan.

regardless what it is, there are C7 clue all over. So can stop saying
corvette copied Camaro. If that is an impala or Malibu, buyers can say
hey I got something that looks like a corvette for a fraction of the price.
With sporty coupe looking sedans now, just take more away from a
sports car like the vette.

I'm not, something similar has made it to production and will come out of hiding on 1/13/13 Honestly I agree it looks hideous. The new C7 and the general shape of the above pictured abortion on 4 wheels reminds me of the old GM Aero backs of the late 70s and early 80s they were the ugliest cars on the road at the time.
