2014 C7 or 2014 E63 4matic?
Oh this is a tuff one! Price wise there is a gap but besides that both are on my radar. Not sure if most here know but this year the 4matic will be available. Also tuners are getting deep into the 700 ft lbs of trq and same with HP with a tune and minor parts. All done thru stock mufflers X pipe ect. On the other hand I love the C7 and believe is to be a game changer in the corvette world. E63 with tune and wait for ZR1?

Scraping the splitter.
I am not sure if this is even a serious question. The cars couldn't be more different and why would you consider choosing between a $110k+ 4300 lb. 4-door sedan and a $52k 2-door sports car?

Since this is a Corvette forum I can predict what the response will be. However the E63 is a wonderful car and will outperform the C7 if thats what you want. But they are not comparable in price.

2 totally different cars: the only thing they have in common is they are both FAST.
You can't even remotely cross shop them.
The C7 is a true sports car, 2 seater, and will get way more looks because of its exotic lines.
The E63 is a fast sedan. Its fast but its also going to be more boring to drive, but will be a great daily driver esp the new AMGs are 4matic now...
Like I said you can't cross shop the 2.. if you are then you are still UNSURE what you want in your next vehicle and if you choose the wrong one you are going to kick yourself.
I appreciate both:
I have had 2 z06s, and 2 base models over the years.
I also have had an SL 65 AMG, CLS63 AMG, SL55, and E55, over the years.
I also have a CLA45 AMG on order for my new daily driver that will be out in November... and will drive that solely for a year and then pick up a 2015 C7 which at that point I will get for a nice discount.

Not even comparable cars IMO. Big, heavy, luxury car with a boat load of power. Versus a small, light, nimble sports car.
If drag races are your thing, the E63 4MATIC with a tune will be very, very hard to beat. It is also arguably of "higher status" if that matters at all.
For me, the C7 will be more fun to drive and more engaging day to day. I own a C63 and have driven the E63 at MB track days and I wouldn't personally trade my C63 for one. It is absolutely a better car but it is a less "fun" car IMO regardless of how fast it is. A 4,300+ lb car feels NOTHING like a 3,300 lb car regardless of power. That is, however, subjective.

More like choosing between a great Italian and a great Thai restaurant. Pick the one you want and enjoy yourself...

4matic ONLY for the US this year.
AMS is already making 767 to the wheels with the new E63.
Add the AWD and MCT transmission to that equation, and the E63 is a no brainer.
Get the E63.

Agreed.
Seeing that Nick is living in Pennsylvania, I am surprised he hasn't picked up a GTR in the last 5 years.
I think the GTR is the best "one car" solution available.
On the other hand, I think a 2 car combination of a blown Corvette and a AWD Performance Sedan (E63, Audi S6) is hard to beat.
Especially when the OP is usually making 1000hp with whatever Corvette he picks up.
I hope that one day soon GM can get their head out of their *** and offer the options of AWD and DCT that will finally make Corvette a "one car" solution.

No one can say with absolute certainty there will be a C7 ZR1 version. So if that's your one target, it may or may not develop.
And, as others have said, if it does it will be an apples and oranges comparison to the E63 matic. IMHO there s no way to objectively compare the 2.

Scraping the splitter.
And 427 C5...if you're going to continue to plaster this nonsense in your signature, please educate yourself on the costs to property built a Nissan GR6 to handle the required HP to run 8's. Hint: It's several times more than $7000. Even one on the edge of supporting low-mid 9's is ~$13k and that doesn't even include the Promax clutch. I suggest researching Sheptrans and Dodson.

The rumblings are that the '15 GT-R is going to be pretty badass.

Simple rhetorical question that I already know the answer too:
Is a GTR with Shep's 7k DCT rebuild capable of running an 8 second pass like I stated ???

My mom has an E Class (not a 63) and there is absolutely nothing special about that car or it's interior. It even smells cheap inside.
I would never pay $95K for one. I would get a loaded C7 for $75K if it was between the two. If I absolutely needed a 4 door, I would buy a Jaguar XF-R or the new Maserati coming out. Both cars will give you 98% of the performance but with much more style & cache.

Dave-
Are you not listening ???
AMS is ALREADY making 767hp TO THE WHEELS.
That number is going to rise and the E63 now has the benefits of AWD and MCT.
I'm sure the C6 ZR1 is going to be a beast, but until the C7 gets forced induction, the E63 is the easy choice.
Especially on the street.
