Jim Mero's ZR1 time at VIR (2:45) was ~5 sec faster than the C&D lightning lap time so I would take than into account when comparing his lap times to the C&D lap times. You can see a similar difference in time with the factory Camaro ZL1 time; 2:52 for Chevy (Arron Link) vs 2:57 for C&D.
Can't accurately compare them.
It also puts it next to a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV

RC000E commented on the 2:50-2:51 during the Mero talk. It sounded like he was pretty positive that those were the times. Corvette Blogger should be putting up that video of the Mero talk any day now.
