Default Question about the performance exhaust option

Does anyone know if the Performance Exhaust option will add HP or is more for sound?

It's the only wildcard of my order.

The rest of the order:
Black Z51
Mag Ride with PTM
2LT (not sure the color)
Suede Inserts
My Link Sat Nav
Black Wheels

The exhaust being the only uncertainty at this point.

Added 6 HP on my GS and sounds great when you bury your foot but who knows if it is worth the $1000-$1200 bucks?

It added six HP to the C6. I assume it will add something to the C7. And, it does increase the sound. The NPP cost is $1,195 for the C7. That would be $200 per HP if a six HP gain is the number for the C7. Your money. Your choice.

Hopefully it doesn't increase the interior drone when just cruising. Your experience?

I'm curious what the standard exhaust will sound like! In the C6 the standard exhaust has no sound, so you need aftermarket, or NPP! I'll probably get the NPP anyway, just because I want too!

No drone. C7 setup will have two sets of valves. One to deal with the V-4 operation noise when in cylinder deactivated mode, the other to open at higher RPMs. We'll see how the "manettino" settings are between Tour, Sport & Track soon enough on delivered vehicles as far as how agressive the openings are.

Does not kick in at cruising, you have to really get into it.

I'm wondering is disabling of the cylinder-deactivation-system is going to be popular. But then the next step would be a simpler exhaust system
.

Can it be turned off from the menus on the dash?

There are times when a loud exhaust attracts too much of the wrong type of attention.

If you don't order the performance exhaust, you'll get the tiny tips

If you're not on the gas and above 3500 RPM, the exhaust should be pretty quiet.

For 4-5HP gain, not worth it. I rather use the money for tires and trackdays...

I would want to hear a high dollar exhaust on the C7 before I sprung for one.

But a CF Square tip Akrapovic system would be sweet!
