They probly did that because they knew thousands would be headed to body shops for "body color" paint.

It should make it a lot easier and a lot less $$$ to just pop off the lower rear bumper panel and paint it body color... could make it a easy mod.

Many of you seem to be reading way too much into magazine lap times. This isn't like drag racing.... road course lap times have huge variables in play. Tires, track conditions, driver skill, and driver comfort level are everything. I could take a Miata on Hoosier A6s and outrun a C6 on runflats.

Looking at all the technology put into the new C7 I'm confident it will run around a track on par if not slightly faster than a C6 Z06. Things like suspension tuning and aero tuning are everything vs. 460-505 horse being nothing. Good drivers in C5 Z06s prepared similarly to C6 Z06s can run very similar lap times even with the 100 horse deficit.

If Mero etc. say it's "way faster" than a C6 GS I'm sure it is... if they say it's on par with the C6Z I'm sure it is... the features and engineering don't lie.

We are looking for apples to apples, not a better driver or better tires on one or the other.

Exactly... and you won't know any of that until you get a real-world test of a C7 Z51 vs. C6Z06 at the same track, same day, same driver as was recently done with the C6 ZR1 and the new Viper.

Oh nooooo Joe ................... You left out the dunder heads in their land yacht motor homes and the morons towing a twin axle 40' camper behind a Ford Escort

I'm pretty sure GM has done the testing, or they wouldn't be making the statements they made today and in the car and driver interview.

I have no problem with independent testing as long as it's not Top Gear!....
