Datsun 240Z?

Just to be sure we are thinking the same thoughts, I think it looks great (with or without the Z51 package). IMHO, this car will sell like hotcakes. I particularly like the fact that the roof panel appears to be body colored in the pic above. Need to do the same with the black rear-bumper panel.

"In honor of jpee"
nope, not to me! as to the paint on the rear fascia panel, your choice, but not mine. will look huge imo if it's body color. probably the reason it's not.

My wife says the same things about cars... you know, confusing different cars because she thinks everything looks the same
IB4TL.
P.S. it actually looks pretty good for a non-Z51 car!!

[QUOTE=Mechanic;1583688367]Tell me this puppy doesn't look like a modern Datsun 240Z.
most people thrilled with this "style" wouldn't know what a 240/60Z looks like.

I see a lot more Ferrari f12 than the datsun 240z....
The solid top looks dam good too and it's very light as a standard feature.
Being able to have a lift off roof is one of my favorite standard features in my c6.
Wouldn't buy another sports car because of it.....
Killer corvette performance being the other Main reason....
The datsun copied the E type jag back in the day when it released or so the design briefs in road and track said.

There are lots of folks who would know the 240Z and also be thrilled with the style. Your us of the word "most" is far from accurate. You are, however, correct in alluding to the idea that younger people will be thrilled by the new style... that is true

Nice looking car back in the day. Many were that orange and I still laugh as I remember the hubcaps they came with..
For 3500 dollars it put all the British sports cars of the day on the trailer...
Triumph TR6 , MGB and the fiat 124 spider were often in the four car lineup of the test...
The "powerful" 240 z always won out....thanks for bringing back the memories and the blue one with the wider wheels and possible plastic headlight covers looks dam good..
No where near the presence of the c7. ...but nice all the same.
Today most economy cars make more hp than the first generation 240Z....
Nissan would do well to very closely copy that blue 240z for it's own poorly selling 370z....
This blue 240z is light and cleanly designed compared to the 370z.....
Actually...the spiritual successor for this 240z comes from Toyota in the form of the scion FRS...
Which from a sales perspective eat the 370z s lunch
Nissan could use a revamp of tHe 370z and fasT. ITs a slug in the market these days...I like the 370z but it's a bit heavy in appearance and in detail. Not cheap either and the pony's slaughter it in performance too...

The rear does not work...something about it is off and looks cheap.
A rear such as this with a rear glass would have made far better sense with the rest of the C7 (not because the lights are round). This looks more expensive and far more exotic.
