Default C6 HUD problem corrected in C7?

i generally luv my C6 HUD. it has, however, one major flaw that i hope is corrected in the C7. in street mode, every time a song changes (like every 3 minutes!) i lose speedometer/tach/etc. from the HUD, which displays song info for several seconds instead. switching to track mode stops song display, but also stops NAV display. totally annoying! is this corrected in the C7?

Which part annoyed you? The fast it switches in Street Mode or that it does not in Track Mode? I never noticed it in mine; I hardly ever had mine in Street Mode.

Default huh?

Since September 29, 2005 and for 62K miles, our HUD has functioned flawlessly. I hope our C7 HUD performs the same as the C6.

track mode has the best display. track mode does not display nav, which makes sense, so i generally use street mode for nav display. what annoys me is the constant interruption of normal street mode display with stupid song info. wish i could turn that off.

my HUD has functioned flawlessly for 64K miles since 2006. Song display is per street mode design. I just don't like that particular "feature".

I understand the C7 HUD is like the C6 HUD, only better. I just hope there is a way to turn off the song display.

Default I don't think that's a common problem

I've had FOUR C6s, and NEVER experienced that problem on any of them - including my 2005. It certainly sounds annoying, but I think it's more a problem with YOUR VEHICLE than with the nav system.

It's not a malfunction, it's a feature and it cannot be turned off. It works the same way in all C6s with factory navigation.

There is - I did it. I installed a Kenwood 9980 head unit. End of story.

Hmm...I don't have this problem. But I don't use the CD player either, I use my iPOD jacked into the aux. Try switching to track mode, the display is better anyway.

interesting. I never use the CD player. I, too, use my iPod, but mine is jacked thru the XM box. maybe that's the problem.

track mode is definitely the best display, but it doesn't show nav.

Ahhh... I don't have nav, I purposefully bought a car without it. I just use google maps on my phone. If I'm using my phone vs. the iPOD the nav talks through the speakers anyway.

p.s. You have a beautiful car brother.

I don't see anything to fix. It does what it is designed to do.

When that happens, just look down at those big, round gauges. Problem solved!

Not sure what street mode you use, but I do not lose speedometer on a song display, it just gets smaller. I do lose the tach.

I've gotten to a point. I kinda ignore the HUD. Just the analog gauges, like a regular car. No sun fade or visibility issues.

I agree. The Camaro does this, too, and it is ANNOYING. Are we driving, or is the main focus the radio? Leave this stuff for Cadillac buyers.
