Yeah!let's go back to bashing the c7 for not having DCT or AWD! I especially want to hear more about how the corvette has camaro tail lights for the four billionth time.
The first post in this thread is somewhat informative but it lacks that continued whine as to why the c6 is superior to the new c7 GM just spent all this money developing.....
We need to hear how present c6 owners can bitch about the c7 evolving into a superior sports. Car compared to the c6 and hold on to your drawers if we even dare mention c6 z06 in the same sentence......
The hordes of corvette justice such as yourself and you know who you are will like a lame Thor hammer strike down the infidel....
Chill out as long as the original poster was presenting some degree of facts ...at the very least it wasn't a whiney bitch fest of people who either have a weird love going on with their existing corvette which not even the new one developed from GM can replace or they are a foreign car fan that troll corvette sites before actual release of information from the general...
450hp, 460 hp , 470 hp...480 hp? Half you bozos don't even rev the motor to redline anyway......god only knows why? And the other half won't even use your car in inclement looking weather because your car might get wet?
WTF?

I think hes got it, hate to admit it but I do.
I red line mine and take it out in the rain , not both at the same time scares me too much when I let it go in the rain ( I do remind myself every now and then) The get up and go in these street cars is great, and a lot of fun . It wount change from that this year im sure of that.

my 94 ZR-1 puts down right at 400 to the wheels... and to me, the car is brutally fast.. and yes, I wound the LT5 up to around 7K a few times this weekend..
if the new Stringray is 475 at the crank AND weighs less than my ZR-1, all I can say is holy crap...

GIVE US THE NUMBERS ALREADY! I hope NPP jumps in performance gain and net's closer to 10hp vs 6HP now. I can see this car coming with 470-480 stock, and pushing out 480-490 after NPP. I think it will have to, given how well this car performs on the track (Per GM at that the bash), with all that extra weight on the Z51 car. A 3400-3500lb car needs a lot of ponies to move around a race track that fast.

I love getting ready to drop a deposit on a car where there are so many unknowns yet.... eh, just trust me, just write the check, you'll love it when it shows up in November.

GM is cranking out the new engines this year and I think the LT1 is last in line for final rating. We've seen the twin turbo V6, truck 5.3 V8, and today the numbers for the truck V6 were released(285/305, about the same as the old 4.8L V8). All that's left this year is the truck 6.2 and the LT1.

That number of 475 seems to be the concensus with the guys at Hennessey Performance. I just pre-ordered a C7 Saturday with the Dual Performance Exhaust (factory option), and plan on adding the Hennessey Cold Air intake to it on day one...they told me over there with just those two add-ons that the car will produce equal, or a little higher HP numbers to the current Z06.

Gee, if Hennessey says so, it must be true...
