If I end up with a C7 the it won't be with the base motor, after the Z06 was introduced in 01( I trading in a 4 month year old coupe with 2k on the odo, the dealer ripped me on my trade) I promised myself, never again would I buy anything but a performance model.

So what about the base Viper? Or is it that word 'base'?

The OP makes a good point and more than likely you will end up paying less for the 2015 too.

So, you have never heard of the long list of documented problems not to mention the production changes to correct the problems? Or is it since you have one 2005 "with no problems" it stands to reason there were no problems with them?

My brother ordered identical 72 models, color, options, etc. They were delivered on the same truck. Mine rolled off the truck with a blown head gasket. Like you said, it can happen!

I've purchased an '84, '97, and my '05 all of which were among the first ones (Low VIN's) delivered in the Mpls./St Paul area. Yes, there were some teething problems, but overall I was satisfied with all of them. Still have the '84 and plan to keep the '05 when the C7 comes. I follow the C6 forum and the buyers of '12-'13 models are still experiencing some issues as well-not the same ones as on my '05, but some things that are problems unique to the later models. Some may be assembly, some engineering, and others from parts suppliers. I'm ready to take this on once again-as long as I'm not left stranded on the side of the road I can deal with some of the minor issues. I like to think of us early owners as 'field test drivers' for second year buyers.

C6 2005 models had some undesirable computer controlled quirks. Some were fixed by reprogramming, unfortunately some are still there. Items on the first C7 run will change as the public makes itself known. Reliability was/is good and I expect the C7 to be extremely reliable and maintenance free.

new face lifted 2014 Camaro is a ton nicer looking than a C-sucks or C 7 thingy.

Advising an entire Corvette Owners Forum not to purchase a 2014 Stingray, based upon an experience you had 17 years ago, and which may or may not be relevant to the new model, is fairly pretentious, is it not?
Unless I missed something in your posting, you posses no inside knowledge of known or potential issues with the new model - yet you stipulate "don't buy a 2014 . . . taking your brand new ride to the Dealer for recalls, service and adjustments". Respectfully, you have an experience, not an expertise to specify the outcome of a 2014 purchase experience . . .
I had a problem with a girl I dated 17 years ago - so everyone should not date a girl in the first year you know her because of my experience
