It means I will get my used C7 a year or 2 quicker than I now expect to

Default trade in

if i can get a decent trade-in on my c6 vert i'd go for the c7 version in the $40's.
really don't want to get that first year beta version.

i'm sure it will take time to just correct the new electronic instrument panel bugs.

I HOPE the base (1LT/Non-Z51) Stingray comes in at 50k; but I REALLY HOPE that a 3LT/Z51/MSRC/VPTE model can be had for for 70k…

And for the pricing of the 3LT, in regards to the seating upgrade, one should have the option of subbing in the Comp Sport seats with ZERO markup…

No I wouldn't buy the base model for any price The Z06 is the only thing I'm interested in not the dead fish!

The only way GM will be able to sell the C7 for 50K is when they finish the new 11 factories their building in China! So you may be driving a Chinese Corvette in a few years.

I will be very happy if the base is 50K because that means the add-ons shouldn't push the price to $80K. I honestly don't want to spend more than 70K after taxes.

There was one 1SX car produced on Oct-Nov 04. It was for the Cure for Cancer tour. It was raffled off as a prize by a large dealer in Michigan. I think it was Les Stanford.
I forgot about that significant little detail. I ordered in May, '04 my '05 C6 Coupe, 1SB, Z51, 6spd with polished wheels from a relatively small dealer in Delaware with an initial allocation of 5. I was number 1 and it was both built and delivered by 8/31/2004. I was really surprised how fast I received it. What also helped was I ordered only the transparent top whereas those ordering both tops had one initially put on constraint and delivered later on. LeMans Blue was also on constraint. I ducked that issue by ordering Precision Red. The stars were aligned for me.

Well, that isn't the point of the thread. Those are other fees that any car would have.

I ordered my 2005 A4 3.15 1SA in December of 2004. There were many, many 1SB Corvettes available but I only recall one other 1SA on around and that had a deposit on it.

At 50K for the base I would most definitely go for 2014 2LT...... depending upon the cost of options I might also go for a Z51 with npp

If the base starts at 53,000 I'll hang on to my C6. Let GM pedal them to all those well to do younger individuals who will be replacing us older guys & those successful plumbers

It all depends upon the difference in weight, size of brakes and possible difference in horsepower. I drag race and C6 with the 1LT package regardless of having the Z51 option are very close in performance. Once the C7 is out and about we will know if this will be true for the C7.

If you are into auto crossing or road racing the Z51 option is the way to go.

Then there is the consideration of cost. If the interchangeability of parts from the C6 Z06 & the C6 is carried forward to the C7, it may be more cost effective to purchase the non optioned C7 and just upgrade parts.

Time for a poll?

I just bought a 2013 C6. If the C7 came in at $40K I wouldn't buy one.

Default No,

I would not buy a 2014 Corvette Stingray if the price comes in at $50,000!
I will only buy this car if it is $100,000

Regards,
softouch

may be; but the thread is about the sticker price (MSRP) of the base model.

MSRP = sticker = MSRP = sticker

there's no other way to represent it.
