So If The C7 Price Comes In At $50,000 For The Base Stingray Will You Still Buy It?

trade in
if i can get a decent trade-in on my c6 vert i'd go for the c7 version in the $40's.
really don't want to get that first year beta version.
i'm sure it will take time to just correct the new electronic instrument panel bugs.

I HOPE the base (1LT/Non-Z51) Stingray comes in at 50k; but I REALLY HOPE that a 3LT/Z51/MSRC/VPTE model can be had for for 70k…
And for the pricing of the 3LT, in regards to the seating upgrade, one should have the option of subbing in the Comp Sport seats with ZERO markup…

No I wouldn't buy the base model for any price The Z06 is the only thing I'm interested in not the dead fish!
The only way GM will be able to sell the C7 for 50K is when they finish the new 11 factories their building in China! So you may be driving a Chinese Corvette in a few years.

Let's take this a step further. The 1SA cars were on constraint, too. These didn't show up to dealers until Oct 04 (Production started Aug 04).
The 1SX cars got hit with an additional constraint when they were introduced in Jan 05. The manual passenger seat track had issues so the power passenger seat from the 1SA, 1SB cars were used for a short time.
There was one 1SX car produced on Oct-Nov 04. It was for the Cure for Cancer tour. It was raffled off as a prize by a large dealer in Michigan. I think it was Les Stanford.

At 50K for the base I would most definitely go for 2014 2LT...... depending upon the cost of options I might also go for a Z51 with npp
If the base starts at 53,000 I'll hang on to my C6. Let GM pedal them to all those well to do younger individuals who will be replacing us older guys & those successful plumbers

It all depends upon the difference in weight, size of brakes and possible difference in horsepower. I drag race and C6 with the 1LT package regardless of having the Z51 option are very close in performance. Once the C7 is out and about we will know if this will be true for the C7.
If you are into auto crossing or road racing the Z51 option is the way to go.
Then there is the consideration of cost. If the interchangeability of parts from the C6 Z06 & the C6 is carried forward to the C7, it may be more cost effective to purchase the non optioned C7 and just upgrade parts.
