Porsche sold 35,043 cars last year in the US and clearly GM was looking at the new Boxter model alone which sold about the same number as the total Corvette production for all models when they were designing features on the new vette. Very similar price point, selling very well and the boxter buyer is someone they would like to go after.

I could not tell from the close ups so hopefully one of you that have actually seen the car can answer this. Concerning the tail light assemblies, are the inboard clear portions for the back up lights and are the outboard clear sections for the turn signals? If so, will the turn signals have amber or red bulbs/LED's?

I think the 2 best improvements to the looks of the convertible are no air vents on top of rear fenders and to make the lower valance body colored instead of black as on the red coupe. These changes should be taken to the coupe as far as I am concerned.

The 2013 Porsche Boxter has a similar feature where you can put the top up or down while driving and have seen it in operation and works fine. I have owned around 25 vettes and have been driving them since I was 17 and never have owned a Porsche but the new 2013 Boxter is very tempting now with all the changes and interior upgrades they have introduced in the 2013.

Anyways car looks beautiful but for the first time ever for me, I think I like the Coupe better.
And that interior....wow!!! Looks great and very premium, nice job GM!! Nicest Sports car interior under $100k imo.

I was thinking just the opposite. Never cared for the converts much until I saw this one. Mainly I think because I don't care much for the rear widow design, doesn't look right? A bit Mustangy. Plus with the top down it shows off that cool interior !

Agreed on the lower valence color, but I wish there were vents on top of rear fenders. More aggressive.

I looked closely at the large Geneva closeup rear end pics of the convert posted in the linked thread and there you can see it is actually black.
