What do you like best?
OK, I get that those that don't like the new Vette dislike the square tail lights most of all. I would like now to hear what those that like the car like best. What is its best feature?
For me, it is how GM has tried to improve so much of the car. They have worked to provide a better engine, transmission, aerodynamics, cooling, interior and frame. Virtually every major aspect of the car is better. That is what I like most about the new C7.

I suppose I don't a single BEST thing I like - but what I do like is:
1. The excitement & anticipation created around all Corvettes with the C7 launch.
2. GM's 140 million dollar commitment in Corvette's future, America's sports car
3. Indisputable head turning design whether you like everything you see or not
4. GM's solid attempt to correct many of the issues C5 & 6 owners raised
5. Ample use of leading edge technology - perhaps, perhaps, the best sports car ever

If you pressed me for just one thing? Interior design. Exterior design, and performance specs being raw sex incarnate just goes with the territory of being a Corvette.... for the first time ever, the vette even in base trim will have a gorgeous interior.

For a new guy, like me, their harsh words have been interesting and surprising. (It reminds me of when BMW intoduced the Z4. Lot of the Z3 guys were really pissed.) The C7 haters seem to be blind to the remarkable effort GM has made to improve so much of the car. I can't recall ever seeing so many substantial changes in one generation on an American car. The C7 is truely a new car. I believe that the C7 will gain many more converts like me, than they will loose in unhappy C6 owners.

For me I like the design of the front and the interior. Profile is also great and rear is nice (unlike what some feel, I actually think it is an improvement over the C6 which for me was very bland and did not have a lot of character). The C7 is the first effort GM has had with the Corvette that has REALLY interested me. I loved the C6 Z06 and ZR1 but only from a performance perspective... the interior was something I personally couldn't live with day-to-day (personal preference only). The C7 brings overall styling into the 21st century and GM has put together a very complete package IMO.
I know the rear design is getting grief here and I would have expected that but my anecdotal sense is that the design is being very well received outside of the Corvette community where design continuity and expectations are far less relevant (i.e. BMW owners could care less what the Corvette rear "should" look like, they only care about what it does look like). I have also seen similar sentiment on transitions to new generations of all cars... look at the huge upheaval BMW faced with the E92 M3 versus the E46 M3. In the end, a huge majority either love the new gen right away or, over time, come to love it. I think this will ultimately happen here too but who knows for sure yet.
For me, the car is a MUCH more modern and impressive design, the interior is a HUGE improvement over the outgoing generation and the performance (to be confirmed) should absolutely match. Again, I know some don't agree but for me, the C7 is the most exciting thing GM has done in a long, long time. Well, since the 1978 Vette in my Avatar which is a facsimile of my father's and what started my obsession with cars

1. Jewel-like headlights. They really are well done.
2. Profile - the new rear quarter window works well, recognizing it's a large step away from tradition.
3. Related to #2, the new rear hatch. Flow and looks quite nice.
4. Sculpted sides. My only complaint with the standard C6 was that it was a bit plain looking. The Z, GS and ZR took care of that and gave the car a more muscular, tougher appearance while maintaining a "sleek" look. I think the C7 borrowed from the C6 widebodies the spirit of muscular but sleek stance/look.
The interior wasn't a big deal for me. From tracking my vettes, I came to appreciate the straight-forward placement of all the controls in the C6. Everything is where you want/need it to be. The C7 interior looks like a good place to be, and any move upmarket in materials will be welcome. I hope it proves as functional as the one it replaces.

I absolutely LOVE the interior of this car. The ONLY thing I would change about the interior is the inability to get black seats with a red dashboard. Not a fan of red seats, but I like the red dash.
What I absolutely HATE about this car is how indecisive I am on the color I want it in. I know I have a while before I get one, but I just want to know what I want, and I can't decide on a color for the life of me. I happen to LOVE the red, but I feel like I might get sick of it and being a younger guy, I've been told and somewhat feel like it's "mid life crisis" red. Always loved black and it looks sooo sleek, but I would like some contrast between the vents and the body so it's not my first choice. The cyber grey looks good in some pics, and dull in others to me. Seems too "neutral" also. Kind of like a nissan maxima grey, nothing special. Night race blue is a candidate, but I want to see it in person.
