On a $43,000 car the financing cost ~$790 total for a 4 year loan. Paying cash just didn't make sense. So like I said, it depends on the terms that are available at the time.
Must have been hard to move that BMW. Discounts and incentives are only used to sell what will not sell IMHO.

Not true. That financing was available across the entire BMW line.

Well the entire line was not moving . They were stuck. No reason to give up profit if you do not have to.
You can argue with that but you need to justify your position. IMO

Hey Bill, I don't have to justify anything. Cash is not always the best way or smart way to pay for a new car. Period.

I agree about your cash position. If a person pays cash they reduce their capital. It is better to keep your capital and have the car too.

But does not change my point that discounts and incentives are used to move cars that are not selling. Thus the BMW problem. IMO BMW is well marketed but over priced.

Sounds to me like you just have a grudge.

Nope.. Just a simple opinion gathered from friends of mine who where disappointed in their BMW's and the crazy repair bills. They do like how they are treated by the dealer with respect.
