Interesting wording on Chevy email about c7
I was reading the latest email from chevy on the C7. It was describing the driver modes. The track mode was described as "exclusively for legitimate race settings"
wonder how this will play out with tracking and warranty claims

I think that is more to try to protect them against injury/liability claims for using it "on the streets - illegitimate race settings" vs "legitimate race settings". The lawyers read/approved the email.

Plus it may mean you won't want to use these settings on the street...as in a lot of stop and go traffic. Or if you want to use less gas.

It may introduce new parameters for warranty coverage while on the track

Interesting point
if they could dump the exhaust prior to the cats they would save themselves from covering catalytic converters under warranty that were blown because of race track performance
I have heard of a number of ZR1 converters having to be replaced for this reason

Not marketing fluff. I smell lawyer's language.

If I recall correctly as there was a post by a lawyer who decided to purchase a Z06 instead of a GTR because the very small print stated using the track mode will void the warranty.
If GM utilizes he same small print on he C7 warranty.....
That would really, really suck big time as I go to track events ..... and then modify the car after the warranty is over.
I hope this is all conjecture as the C6 always has some active handling that has not been able to be "tuned out" on launch. I would imagine that the C7 would have a similar working system maybe not as intrusive because it has better tires & suspension to handle the added horse power.
I remember the early days of the C6 at the track with everyone trying to cope with the traction control and then destroying many rears in the process. GM may recall all those warranty claims for broken rears and have gone a bit overboard (the techs would look at the rear wheel wells for rubber).....we shall see once the C7 is in production

Doubtful. My dad blew the motor in his Z51 at an HPDE at Watkins Glen (not competitive) and GM didn't cover it. I guess it all depends on how you handle it and who your dealer is (my dad handled it incorrectly, as it turns out).
