Heading south for the race!!

It would be great to see the C7 along with the race,
if not guess I'll have to wait for the Bash!!

I'm trying to setup a deal with Danica and GM.

You never can tell were GM will show the C7, but I would think the SS would be more likely to on display at a NASCAR event. I realize there are a lot of Corvette fans that go to NASCAR events, but again GM wants to showcase the car that will be on the track.

Now next month at the 12 Hours of Sebring, I would think there is a good possibility it may show up there. Last year they had the 60th Anniversary car on display in the GM tent on Friday and in the Corral on race day.

they are missing a great opportunity if they dont have a C7 there....these ARE car people....they drive all over the country to see cars go round in circles....

That picture that popped up a few days ago with the SS, Camaro, and Cyber Grey vette looked to be taken in the parking lot, or the air field outside the back stretch @ Daytona.

Well, we know one thing. The C7 is NOT the 2013 Daytona 500 Pace Car!

I heard the first views of the SS will be at Daytona. They might not want the new Vette to steal some of it's Nascar Thunder!

I think it was a known fact that the C7 would not pace the 500, seeing it is not yet in production.

Those were my thoughts. After all GM knows that the NASCAR general public are more muscle car fans, i.e. the Camaro and the new SS. Sure there are a lot of car guys there and the Corvette would be a hit I am sure, but as you say the SS it what GM is marketing for NASCAR.

The 2013 Daytona pace car is the Chevy SS. Like the Corvette, it won't be available until later this year.

I live in Daytona and that is definitely the track in the background. Can anyone confirm if this was just a special/exclusive setup or if there is in fact a display with the car? I'd run down there myself but that place is an absolute bee's nest this time of year and I'd hate to make the trip unless it was worthy of a C7 viewing.

If it is going to be on display, I doubt it is out on display now. I would expect it to be not until Saturday at the earliest.

Sorry Blue, but that is not this years pace car. This is the 55th running of teh 500 and if you look at that Camaro, it says the 51st , making it the 2009 pace car.

I typed in a photo search for 2013 Daytona Pace Car but I grabbed the wrong one.

I did that also and ended up with that Camaro, last years Toyota, a Corvette from a few year back. I final found in all the images a closeup shot of the door that had the 51st on it.

I will be heading down tomorrow to see the races at Daytona. It would sure be a bonus if the C7 was there. All the speculation is a fun read!!!

The warmer weather will be nice too!!!!
