Well I guess I'm just not as cool and he-man, all knowing politically correct car guru as you

If I remember the first spoiler on a. C6 was black on all colors. I thought that was kind of bad looking. But as you rember a lot of different spoilers graced the rear of a great looking car.

Notice the tail light surround isn't painted metallic flash black, like the lower fascia. I think the tail light surround needs distinction, looks to bland without.

Goes well with the rest of that hideous rear end design.

Most modern cars do not have the add-on JC Whitney looking reflectors as the taillights are designed to incorporate the reflectors. I think GM could tweak the car(they have said they are tweaking the car so it's nothing negative on my part) by redesigning the taillights to incorporate the reflectors and get rid of the add-on reflectors which increase the car's weight, cost and complexity. After all, they have plenty of time before they go into production, and plenty off money to scrap out the existing rear end mold an taillight molds, etc.

I have sense of aesthetics and find this part of the car extremely revolting. If you like it, enjoy it, however, respect the fact others find this design cheap looking and outright fugly.

Actually with the switching tail lights to LED, many designs through multiple companies are moving the reflectors away from the lights to take of the advantage of the versatility of LEDs yet still meet DOT standards.

Really? Can you take it without getting your panties in the bunch? Everytime I look at C7 rear end, I keep thinking I am looking at Pontiac Asstek.

I didn't realize that. Could you post some pictures of some examples of new expensive cars with add-on reflectors?

Hopefully they will tighten up some things on the production cars. With as much interest as the C7 is generating, they don't want to push them out the door looking like they have tacky-looking pieces on them like some aftermarket rocker panel extensions and front chin spoilers.

I doubt "fit and finish" of a production car is going to be better than a car they are trailering around to show off at the largest car shows. A test mule maybe but the red and gray cars at the auto shows are indeed "show cars"

If you look at the LED tail lights that both petermj and I have on our C6's, the reflector is dead center in the lens. They are made by Eagle Eye and are DOT compliant. It can be done. I understand that the designers wanted to move on from the round tail light on the C7. I just wish that they'd have incorporated the reflector into the lens assy.
