Mike,

How much clearance is under the chin? Is that less than the C6?

I just moved and the C6 scrapes the under engine air deflector too much already. C7 looks farther forward and wider. (Can't wait to see the local salesman's face when the testdrive includes my driveway.)

Thanks

Don

Mike you kind of talk but you don't say anything. Are you sure you are not running for President? You can not offer anymore to anyone then GM or Chevrolet will let you offer to a Corvette customer. A dealership is not going to offer things to people that will let them lose $$$$ on. They are in the busniess of selling cars and making money not selling cars and loosing money. Now you can take that to the bank.

Hi Mike, Have you ever spoken with Mike Furman in person? See my Posts #118 & #119. I placed a deposit with my local dealer in early February before I know of this Forum and Mike Furman. My dealer did confirm with me yesterday that I will get a car this year, however, I needed to make three repeated phone calls to obtain this info.
Mike Furman might not be able to offer any more financial incentives that other dealers, however what he does offer is honesty, sincereness and a total knowledge of Corvettes. He is passionate about his work and the customers he serves. He is a down to earth individual and offers enjoyable conversation.
If for any reason my current deal starts to waiver, I will definitely ride the 110 miles from my home and buy from Mike.

Uhm, no build until Jan of 2014. Any idea when the 2015 model will be available? I assumed factory production on the 2014 model would be up and running around Sept of 2014. Guess I assumed wrong. If the 2015 model will be available for order around July of 2014, maybe I should just wait and order a 2015 model.

On a side note, I went to my El Paso dealer last saturday, Viva Chevrolet, where I bought my 2013 camaro from about 6 months ago. I told them I wanted to buy a 2014 corvette coupe 2LT from them at MSRP as soon as I saw the specs on it, since I wasn't sure exactly what all I could get on it. They said they had 3 allocations, and would call me back as soon as they could with more info on it. Still haven't heard back from them. Maybe telling them I would only pay MSRP turned them off.

I'm wondering if I should just wait until all this craziness is over with, and get a 2015 model. I'm also wondering if I should just order a 2014 model from Mike Furman@Criswell Chevrolet and have it drop shipped to Viva Chevrolet in El Paso. If I do that, I'm wondering what I should do, if my vette arrives at Viva, from Criswell Chevrolet, and it's been damaged during shipping. Ordering from a dealership up in Maryland makes me a little nervous. I'll have to look at a map, to see where Maryland is at.

I still have available 2014 Stingray allocation. Judging from years past (this is my
4th generation change selling Corvettes) the 2014 model yr will be built thru April 2014. 2015 production will probably start late June 2014.
Call or email me anytime.

Isn't the standard model year change over done in June. There is never a gap in the assembly line, as the old model year is followed directly by the new model year down the assembly line. Then the plant shuts down for the two week July 4th vacation. My 2009 Z06 was built in June 08 as was a friend's 09Z06 (VIN 00075). Because his was a extremely early built 09, our dealer got it in late June whereas mine was close to a thousand C6's behind his and our dealer got it in late July. Mine got held at the plant due to the July two week shutdown, so the truck didn't get loaded until after the plant resumed production in the middle of July. A little over a thousand 09's were built in June of 2008 before the annual July shutdown. I believe that is the norm for a model year changeover(not a generational changeover).

Your half way correct. When I say April, to a dealer that means end of ordering for said model yr. Yes the vehicles get built thru June 20th(approx example) and then the next yrs models get built after that.

Mike, you've probably have already answered this somewhere, but with 3000 post, it might take me awhile to find it. Anyway, I went to a Camaro get together today in El Paso, and the other guys were wondering how you work it when you get a drop ship order like mine. Will my vette be shipped to Criswell Chevrolet, and then drop shipped to an El Paso dealership? I told the other guys I thought my vette would be shipped straight from the factory, to a dealership here in El Paso. I told them I would only have to pay the $975 shipping fee. Am I correct on this?

Also, they were saying a dealership you ship my vette to in El Paso, might try to rip me off and charge like $800 or more for dealer prep. I told them I thought Mike would protect me on that, and that he wouldn't go for that crap. Am I correct on that?

The vette gets drop shipped from the plant to a local Chevrolet dealer you choose. As I originally said to you that dealer will charge you a nominal courtesy delivery fee. You will need to supply me with a name and contact info of someone from thatChevrolet dealer. You will have to see what they will charge you for the courtesy delivery fee. Most times it's in the 200 to 400 dollar range.

Xfactors,

It was explained to me by Mr Furman that all paperwork is completed through him. The vehicle will be shipped from Bowling Green to your dealership.

Mine will be coming up here to Alaska.
