Sounds like a miss-print. GM is targeting 450/450 at the flywheel and that is all they are saying for the moment. SAE certification tests will likely be next month so we will have to wait until after that for the final numbers.

I'm wondering now, has GM actually stated anywhere "More than 450hp flywheel or rwhp" or just "More than 450hp."?
If the latter, and they are just giving estimated Rwhp estmates it would be in line with the gains it should be making with the new tech at the flywheel. Between 475-500.
Quoting from the auto show website, ".... pumps out 450 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheels" I believe this is just "average consumer speak" for the C7 is rear wheel drive. The engine pumps it out but not all of it is going to get to the wheels
Boy I can already feel the backlash but I am going to go ahead and put this out there. I think the C7 will be 500 hp and 500 flb of torque at the flywheel and suprise everyone. Ok have at it and blast away but I am a glass half full not half empty kind of guy. We will know soon I think GM is leaking these kinds of details out a bit at a time to keep us interested.
Hardly true anymore in modern automatics. The difference is pretty much negligible.
The size of the tires is ultimately meaningless. All that matter is how much grip they have, and GM claims they have plenty.
450bhp x 88%(manual w/12% loss)) = 396rwhp
450bhp x 85%(auto w/15%) = 383rwhp.
13hp is a lot. People spend lots of money to gain 13hp at the rear wheels.
So, you believe that a Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP that is 285mm wide will have the same adhesion as a Michelin pilot Super Sport ZP that is 325mm wide, both being of identical design(compound, tread design, etc).
