Default Console

I have looked and can't find anything. Does anyone know what that is above the cup holder on the console. It's has a little door over it like the cup holder

Thanks
Lisa

I have heard people comparing it to the C4.

I think it is a power outlet...so 90's!

Dated? Just like a manual shifter and cup holders are pretty dated, eh?

The C5 cupholder was pretty much in name only and was never used so I have one of these removable Travel Buddy holders for long rides. I'm pretty much a "no food or drink in Corvette" kind of guy as well, however I need water and coffee on those long road trips. I'm sure there will be vendors offering solutions for anything the C7 lacks...

I realized that I won't spill anything unless there is an accident. And at that point, does it really matter? In 12 years of driving, the only thing I have ever dropped in a fry. And then I just picked it up. I will risk it.

That's cool, in her cars we eat. In mine we don't. I dont care about the outside getting dirty but I really don't like anything on the inside besides cleanliness.

Funny thang is, I agree! No truck, so no need. Need food or drink? Stop for it.

As to the dash and console, interesting. Esp. since I used to LIKE the C4 interior. I don't however think that flying buttress thing (a la Notre Dame in France) as part of the console is going to last. If I were a smart aftermarket console designer, I'd design one without it. Of course, this is all without benefit of seeing the thang up close and personal. I could change my mind/opinion on it.

There's a pic somewhere of that thing open, actually.

It's the power outlet and I think also a USB connection. It doesn't open out like it's a door. It comes up like a pop-up headlight would. Basically like a little ramp. I'm assuming you have to push it down and it comes up and then push it down again to close it.

Edit:

Found it: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c7-g...with-auto.html

Thanks. I wasn't sure they would have one there. I know there are power outlets, USB ports and Bluetooth behind the NAV system
