The '71 350/350 yellow vert that my landlord let me drive at 19 had round tailights...My '89 Corvette Challenge race car had round taillights...My '91 ZR-1 had square-ish taillights...the C5 has round-ish taillights...the C6 has classic-ish taillights...

My C7 will have have rectangular-ish taillights... or are they parallelagram-ish???

Change is inevitable... some people find it hard to accept change...even when change has been a constant...

Taillights are a mod I will definitely not be doing on my C7... handling mods will be first...

I realize that Change is the most constant thing, however, some change is NOT good. If women started having rectangular butts for instance,... that would NOT be a good change. We Like Round!!

But like I believe, it's your car, your money, enjoy it the way you want.
How does that turn into a 15k -20k depreciation? If you sell it an the buyer wants it original you bolt it back on, if you get rear ended you bolt it back on, what am I missing, not saying this design is it, but the Tiger shark after market sold thousands of units for the C5 someone could do the same for the c7

Buy an '84 beater, install a built LSX454 and transmission of your choice, have Caravaggio and a custom painter using whatever color you desire work their magic, put wheel/tires on it and be done with it

no not on this forum. All over. People are very excited about the car. Look what happened at the detroit show, and Chicago. Not many negative comments, just lots of excitement and positive comments. You clearly are missing something here.

It will. Unless you just want to be a contrarian, so you get some attention.

big big difference in the tiger shark. It was cool in its time. Putting an older generation rear on this new car, is just silly and makes no financial sense either.

Patiently waiting till the C7 with the Corvette rear end is available. There will be guys/gals who will buy the aftermarket upgrade for their C7's. Once I get around to buying a C7, the first thing will be to yank that abortion off and install a proper Corvette rear facia. It's going to happen, no need to be stubborn or negative about. As far as hurting the value.....only if you believe in unicorns and fairies.

how much would you like to bet that the company who makes that idiotic thing will go bankrupt for lack of sales? No one is being stubborn about it other than you. You seem to think they are going to sell well. It wont just hurt the value, it will destroy it. Nothing negative about it whatsoever.

plus you are basically saying that people will want to put a nine year old design, that was not selling well anymore, on a new car with a totally different, non rounded design overall? On top of that, the thinking is that so many people will want to do this that it will keep the company in business? If you believe all that, then I have a bridge I would like to sell you.

People have the freedom to do what they want with their cars and cash. If they want to pore good cash down a rabbit hole, that is there right. Stock Corvettes are worth more then body modified cars. IMO

I'm not saying use the Tiger Shark design or a older generation rear, but that it would be possible to design a modern rear, with modern taillights, that keeps the heritage of the car intact like Porsche has done, like Ferrari has done, who cares if someone wants to spend a couple of thousand on a mod that can be 100% turned back to stock. It's still less wasted money than people running out to pay over sticker to have the first one on the block just to loose 20K the first two years. New cars are just toys to be driven and enjoyed and are always bad investments with very few exceptions.

$20,000 that is about right.. Yes I have to say I am willing to accept that. Most Corvette owners have an inflated value for their cars. C6 owners seem to be in La La land the most. In my opinion...

What you and some of the others seem to be saying is that with the introduction of the C4 in 1984, 30 years ago, the Corvette designers achieved PERFECTION in tail light design and that it should therefore never change, regardless of advancements in light technology and/or evolving tastes. This, THIS, is the pinnacle of design, both aesthetically anf technologically, never to be surpassed:
