New Rear Body Kit w/ ROUND TAILS for C7!

How about the folks that put a 64 rear window in their 63 split. And the three tail lights on the C2's. Then C-5 rear bumpers on the C-4. It all looks new and different. Then we want to get it back to stock. Then it's out to Carlisle to see if we can find the parts. The new Corvette is great.

I have not gone through the whole thread to see if someone posted a side by side comparison picture or not. If so that might make it easier to determine.
At this point I like the look of the kit, but then again I am a traditionalist, so it would be more likely to appeal to me.

I, for one, love the new design. I think it is fresh, revolutionary, and beautiful. This is the first new Corvette that I have placed a deposit on.
The next thing you will see are delete-kits for the second side window.
It's OK if you don't like the new design - don't buy it.

Tail lights for C7
There are certain traditional design icons that you don't screw with on a Corvette. Round tail lights are one of them. Ok... I know the C4 had squarish tail lights but I believe the illuminated brake lens was round. Anyways, the Corvette world was so ready for a new generation Corvette after missing the 1983 model year there wasn't much fuss over this feature or the car itself.
The C7 is awesome looking however the problem with the tail lights is that it makes you think Camaro! Nothing against the Chevy sibling but the last thing you want is the new Corvette taking styling cues from a Camaro. Especially since the rest of the car is so beautiful.
I rest my case. Oh yea.... and someone will make a small fortune selling "traditional" retrofit rear tail light kits if the actual C7 has square tail lights.

Pontiac Designers Strike Again!
If you wonder where the design inspiration came from for the new C7 look no further than the Pontiac guys - the controversial C7 rear end is a knock off of a '67 Bonneville (check it out) - and you will find similar scoops, vents, and lots of bling on the last 2002 TransAm - the new C7 must have fallen victim to a different design team for every body panel - and all of them did their own thing without considering the C7 as a whole - nine feature creases in the hood alone? - a vent over the rear wheel wells? - if you wanted a modern stingray why not use design clues from the original 63 split window which is timeless and generally worth more today than the MSRP on the C7 - mechanically the C7 might be a masterpiece but the wrappings are already dated - how sad

Also look at the shots of the Lambroghini Concept and the C7 on this page. interesting. Everybody seems to be headed in roughly the same direction minus a crease or two.
Not sure if I like the C7 or not. Did a long walk through the Muscle City Museum this weekend. Dang the C6 is a gorgeous car. With the Grand Sport wheels & tires even more so.

I've got a C6. At first, I thought I'd miss the round tail lights, but the new look is so high tech that when I buy my C7 (in 2015) I'll leave the back end as is. Just my 2 cents. (Heck, it was hard enough going from BMW to Corvette.)
