Default Will the C7 Be As Fun to Drive As Previous Generation Corvettes?

I pose this question after having the opportunity to take a Nissan GTR on the twisties and it was (yawn) a very nice car, but not a blast to drive like a C6. Don't get me wrong the GTR is a great car, but it seems.....sterile.

With all the new technology in the C7 do you think it will be as fun to drive as the Corvette we all know and love?

more and much better in every way. Lets see, I had a 58 which I loved. it didnt corner, rode like it was on bricks, leaked in the rain. Bought a 64 coupe with air, powerglide, small block. Liked it a lot but also rode like it was on bricks, rattled a lot. Bought a 70 454. Car nickeled and dimed me to death. Poorly constructed also. Lots of squeeks and rattles. 04 commemorative edition z06. Build quality way better, but cheap interior. 05 c6 vert. Lousy interior with the ultimate insult, a cobalt steering wheel, and cheap materials. The c7 looks to be better in absolutely every way possible. As the chief designer has mentioned , they fixed all the weak spots. They have appeared to have done just that.

Reasonably light, RWD, V8, and available manual would suggest it will require more inputs and therefore be more engaging than the GTR you mentioned. The fact that they stiffened the steering structure by 500% and seem to be really focusing on steering feel bodes well for fun to drive as well. Tons of torque from the LT1 should provide that nice throw you in your seat feeling, as well.

Good points, but I have had bad experiences with new models in the past...........my first car a 1965 Mustang GT, I loved that car. 2nd car 1971 Mustang Mach 1, big and boring. 3rd car 1975 VW Scirocco and one of my all time favorite cars. Traded the 75 VW in on 'the all new' 1983 VW Scirocco and made one of the worse mistakes of my life.

I sure hope it does, If it doenst beat out a C6 in every way then its a Fail in my book. I can already tell you that it wont be that fun trying to merge or change lanes. Have you seen the Blind spots out the back on the C7?

You got to sit in the C7? *jealous*

There's a lot we don't know about C7, but is there anything we do know about C7 that suggests it won't be fun to drive? Or is this question just an "I hope they didn't mess something up" worry?

Don't worry so much.
