I don't see any discount on the 2014 C7 as we see on the 2013 C6's. After all they want to sell what ever stock they have before the C7's start production and are rolling out of Bowling Green.

Will you be able to purchase a C7 at MSRP, hard to say, but I do expect some dealers to add a nice premium onto the sticker. At least in the first few months and if sales are slow they will drop it fast.

Considering cars wont hit dealer lots until August, you can kiss the idea of a below MSRP price goodbye until 2014.

Buying for any price below MSRP.. should really be considered an incentive. And any incentives wont show up, until the hype around this car begins to die down. Its another reason why I'm waiting for the 2015 model year (incentives, 8sp auto, first year bugs, etc).

It would be a couple of years before I would consider one because of what's been mentioned above.

I think buying the first used one to hit the streets will be a great way to save a few bucks, while moving up 2 generations.

I have been to a few dealers here in Indy.. As of now people are taking deposits, and promise MSRP however, once they hit the lot though, the people to express their interest late will pay a hefty premium over MSRP. The early birds will get the better deals.

on current models, the production line is paid for. on the new model they just invested some 130 milion i think, which needs to be paid off. discounts may take a bit of time. at the end of a long run, its easy to offer incentives without that cost in each car. also consider supply/demand. like anything else, this will drive pricing to a degree. even the big three corvette dealers likely wont be discounting for a year or two. they made a deal this year on lots of cars to get allocations next year to sell at msrp.

I agree; except I think the OP is asking about dealer incentives - not necessarily those being offered by GM.

The MSRP circle-jerk IMO won't last long on the C7; and dealers will start offering their usual discount off of MSRP.

Talk to Matt Reimond at Penske? He's got my deal jacket ready and waiting for me to pick out options

I seriously doubt a C7 is going to depreciate ~35+% in 6 months.

I agree. Thats what I am going to do. The "early adopters" will get in just to be the first one on the block, nothing wrong with that. The 2015 will be a better car and cheaper. As I look at 2015 I will be 59 then! Maybe a Lexus..............

I want some of what you're smoking.

Spring 2014 means the used cars willl be no more than six months old. I sincerely doubt you will find a lot of folks selling their C7s quite that quickly or at the $20,000 discount you're expecting.

If I can't get a decent deal, I'll suffer longer with my C6, HA!! My dealer knows me, cash in hand works wonders.
