Default Laguna Blue, will it stand the test of time?

GM seems to have a love/hate relationship with bright metallic blue. They have consistantly discontinued the color rather quickly.

C5 Nassau Blue - 1997-2000

C5 Electron Blue - 2002-2003

C6 Jetstream Blue - 2008-2010

(Camaro) Aqua Metallic Blue - 2010 only

C7 Laguna Blue - 2014- ???

Personally I really like the new version of bright blue, but a little suprised they brought it back for one more try. Will GM finally decide that it likes the color and intends to keep it around?

JSB was '08 - '11 (mid year).

Don't forget it goes back to Nassau in '65, Marina Blue in '67 and I don't remember the C3 or C4 years, if any.

So yeah, I think it is a short burst color for a few years during a generation. JSB never sold in high numbers but those who bought it (like me ) like it so it is a popular color for a few.

Any yes, I do like the new Laguna Blue.......very JSB'ish.

Wow, that color must have slipped my memory, personally I prefer the brighter Nassau/JSB color but to each their own. They were all great looking colors.

What were the production years for C5 Electron Blue? If my memory serves me, it was very brief.

Actually, LeMans Blue was available from 2004 until 2007, as it was first introduced on the C5's Commemorative Edition.

The real question I would like to put to Tadge is "WHY can't you stay with a certain blue for whole generation"??

I'm obviously a fan of blue. I get many compliments on the color. The Laguna Blue is close to JSB. When the next Z version comes out, even though they lost the round lights, I'm there. Finally, seats that look like they will work on the track.

There will never be a better blue than LeMans Metallic Blue......I may be biased.

gM and blue does not get along very well. It is a very difficult trick to get a Corvette in a blue I like. Going to have to see this new blue in person before I make any comment. I just picked up my LeMans Blue Z late last year after some time searching for a low milage one. Already putting a budget together to add a C7 Z or Vert, so lets hope a this blue looks good in person.

Default Laguna Blue

I think a large part of the unpopularity of the various blues, is that GM never offered a matching interior/seat combo. To the best of my recollection we were never offered blue seats in recent years.

C5/C6 LMB was a dark blue. Supersonic Blue was blueish gray. This is a thread about bright blues.
