Default 7:27 Corvette C7 Driven to the Max Around Nordschleife (Gran Turismo 5)

Hi!

This is my intense lap around Nordschleife with the Corvette C7, driven very hard and as fast as possible. The car has not been modified in any way.

Setup I'm using:

Logitech G27 6-speed manual gearbox and clutch.
Sports hard tyres (standard tyres).
The car has been fully broken in and oil change has been made.
Grip when outside track set to real.

Enjoy!

Lap time: 7:27.285

I've now managed to get an even faster lap time, now 7:25.802. Same setup as before.

I think that's faster than pre 2013 GTR's and even faster than the Ford GT!

Yep, I drove like I've stolen it, as I already have uploaded a video where I'm taking it easy and just do a clean and smooth lap, I wanted this to be a really fast time attack lap

Thank you; but for some reason I'm only getting sound; no picture.

Will try again later.

If I remember to film tomorrow I'll post a vid. I've only got like 7 laps of the ring done in GT5 ever.
And I haven't played GT5 all that much yet. Should be alot of fun though.

I'm shooting for a 7:40ish time. (Slow I know, but you have to start somewhere right? Lol)

The other thread is pretty much useless for obvious reasons.

the last model ZO6 tested IIRC runs a 7:22.
But that was on the barely street legal sport cup R Michelins, that is worth pointing out.
I think the C7 might be able to swing down to low 7:26s, if not high 7:25s.

I'm hoping Flip does another run cause I think he missed a couple shifts, on an otherwise phenominal run.

Yep, you're right, managed to get two more faster lap times, only a picture now, it takes pretty long time for me to upload a video (around 2 hours), but if you want I can upload when I find time

I knew I'd spotted a couple missed shifts!
I believe you, but I love watching the vids, helps me study the track that I haven't driven (an accurate version) in years.
Great runs there man.

I'm more than patient enough to wait. My copy of GT5 is at a buddys since I have a 360 (he's got the PS3. but I found a copy of the XL edition of GT5 for like 8 dollars the day I found out the C7 prototype was in GT5). I might start practicing the circuit again in GT4 though juts to prep abit.

Here is the 7:25 video I knew I were on a fast lap time when coming on the long straight (aka döttinger höhe), my adrenalin rush were surprisingly high and I almost lost it all when braking but I managed to save it though

Much cleaner run than the last one too. Alot less sawing on the wheel, much better shifts.

Lets see what it can do with Sport Softs now
I bet it trounces the ZO6's 7:22.

I'll be doing some runs today on GT5. Gotta make sure I bring my camera out and get it charged.

Filip...come back in the battle thread...F this thread.

If you ran the 7:25, can you just post a proper video because its the rules here...is that so hard? There's another guy that stepped up that ran 7:26. I'm gonna work on it...see if I can shave a couple...

If you post a proper vid I'll update you as first...this guy paddle shifted which is...ehhh.

I'm active in your thread as well, but it looks like a war zone between you and me, so I decided to start a new thread that is cleaner.

I think I have posted a video already showing all the details you want to know, the tyres can be seen very clearly when I'm racing on the lap, and if you don't believe in that, you would not believe if I showed you the tyres all the lap (because why would you believe in that then?).

About the guy racing with the paddles; maybe you should create two leaderboards, with gearbox and one with paddles? If not, you should at least mentioned he is racing with paddles (in a manual gearbox c7 lol).

The first page does state he used paddles, and I requested he do again to see if he can replicate while manual shifting.

Well, in this vid, it appears I am losing most of my time at the end of the straight. Its taking me 50 seconds from the over head sign at the beginning to the finish line, but you're doing it in 46.

I think if anything I tense up and get too conservative at the end.

To the carousel we are about even, you have 1 second on me, through there to the straight you pull another 1.5, the after the straight you are a lot faster. Guess I gotta step up.

I stand corrected man...you have my sincere apology.

I was just watchin it. I am changing it. You need to post the vid in there though. Dont be bitchin if I cut or touch grass a time or two because you did in the 7:25. Your lap was clean though by my standard...but you did touch the grass.

I touched the grass two times in the lap, first one at 6:07 and the other one in the end of the long straight. I think I lost more than earning, because braking on grass is not so good... and at 6:07 I missed apex and couldn't go flat out if done perfectly, you can see I lift off gaspedal.

Except for those two mistakes it was a clean lap
