From the B-J Auction Block Saturday Night
Here is the link that will take you to the B-J Auction Block last Saturday night for the 1.1M dollar sale of the first C7 Corvette to Rick Hendrick. The photos are awesome and there's also the interview with Hendrick.

Thanks for posting. I just cannot see how you can pay that kind of money just the have #0001. But I guess if you have that kind of money it is no bug deal.

In his interview he stated he has ZR1 SN0001. So I guess there are three ZR1 SN0001's out there. Jay Leno, Rick Hendrick, and the guy that purchased SN0001 at Barrett Jackson. Kind of kills the value of SN0001 it seems.

While on the Barret-Jackson auction subject, I have always wondered just how up and up it truly is. I mean the C7 went for a cool $1,050,000.00, yet we never saw any other bidders except Rick. sitting on the other side of Jeff Gordon was Ron Pratt and he is one of the top bidders at that event and he was not in the bidding, so were was the other bidders. normally they move from bid taker to bid taker. I have always said that Barrett-Jackson is simply stupid money. Some people pay a lot more money for some of the cars then they are most likely worth, I think they just get caught up in all the hype.

The bidding went straight up to $1 Million and then suddenly stopped and sold for just $50k over that. I'm sure buried back in some agreement with Chevy there's a clause that gives him the car. I'm calling BS on the whole thing.
Who knows nowadays, I'm sure somehow we the taxpayers bought the damn thing for him.
I had actually intended to start on thread on this very subject. Really wish there was still such a thing as investigative journalism. No telling what they could dig up on this deal.
I'm a little sick of the good ol' boys taking care of each other at the expense of everyone else.

Starting at 1 pm today on the Vorticity channel is the Mehum auction from Kissimmee. It will be interesting to watch some of the Corvette's there and what they sell for.
