The brochure says you can add your VIN and name. This sounds great, but what happens when you sell the car and your name is still on the console? I wonder if GM has made any provisions regarding resales down the road-maybe the plaque can be removed or changed to the new owner's name?

Good question. I think, in my opinion, the aftermarket will have exact replacement plaques so the next owner can cover up the spot where the original plaque appeared. The first owner can then remove the plaque and keep it.

I am working on it but the odds are extremely long. Plus who would want to own a car with the name Corgidog1 on a plaque on the console of their car (lol)?

I think it is completely removable and does not require a replacement if you sell the car.

Part of the option is a putty knife that's in the glove box. In 50 years, that putty knife will be worth millions to the NCRS guy as the putty knife will be lost before too long.
