If GM wants to play it smart, they will price it just as they did with the in coming C6. They will want to sell as many as they can that first year to recover as much of the R & D cost.

I want to see the base 1LT Trim Level Stingray go for US$49,995.00
I want to see the fully-optioned 3LT Trim Level Z51 Stingray (excepting auto trans or dual roofs) go for US$69,995.00
Those numbers would ensure they sold out of every one of the 30k units they want to produce.

to play on Tommy D's post, if GM wants to get everyone's attention, they'll price it below what last year's C6 msrp'd at. we'll see.....

Base price on a '13 C6 1LT Coupe is now $50,575. The C7 1LT will have more std. features than the C6 along with it's aluminum frame and carbon fiber hood and roof panel.
I will guess....$53,995

We know GM does not want to flood the market,so to speak. They won't even let their dealers that didn't sell 4 last year have an order. The don't want to even think about a second shift at the plant as that backfired once before.

They'll do what they've done before, and what they said they're doing, set the starting price of the C7 where the C6 leaves off.
The more interesting question is how the car as shown will be priced -- Z51, upgraded two-tone leather, competition seats (heated+cooled), magnetic ride, visible carbon fiber roof, HUD. That's the car that actually delivers on all the performance & luxury & technology claims. I'll be shocked if that's not close to $60K.
